If he pays alot for Glenoon then people assume he is filling other needs in the draft and thus dont compete at the 3 spot. Then he uses Glennon to buy time for the face of the franchise that he traded up for. As you said its bush league but if it works in the end no one will complain. Signing Glennon for that amount (with all the other holes we have) only makes sense if Pace had an ulterior motive. I'm giving Pace credit that he did his homework on Glennon before signing him and has an idea on how long it takes for one to develop/and or reach his ceiling.
This comes across as a goofy plan by a cartoon villain.
The Bears didn't trick anybody and they still gave up a hefty haul to move up one spot for Trubisky. Glennon hasn't bought any time; he's wasted it. It hasn't worked and people are starting to complain. I'm sure Pace did his homework, but he didn't do it well. All of this at the sacrifice of a terrible secondary and a WR group that's targeting Josh Bellamy and Deonte Thompson.
The irony here is that Glennon looks no more prepared or ready to be a starting NFL QB than Trubisky does. Nothing good or productive came from this scheme.
Not to mention the idea that the McCasky's would allow Pace to just throw away 19 million dollars on a QB he didn't really believe in.
