In fact, I am up front with him and say we love your game, but to commit multiple years and top dollar to you, we need to see it on the court. The guy has yet to play a full season. The Bucks are obligated to do absolutely NOTHING to appease him. He can ask for $100M but the Bucks hold the cards here. And let him go to RFA. If a BKN or some other team is dumb enough to MAX him, let them take on the risk. Save the money for a FA who wants to play with Giannis.
Sure, but there aren't to many clubs that are comfortable with just letting there number 2 pick walk for nothing when they have control.
That's where it becomes scary.
That's why I'm in the camp to strongly explore a trade, hopefully you find one worth doing. You cash in for whatever you end up with and eliminate the variable. Like a stock you're waiting to rebound to get your money back, but you just cash it in now even if it's a loss so that you at least get something and you can eliminate the variable and risk from your books and move forward with a new path. Cut your losses basically.
Of course there's a risk he might recover and be back to what he was, but there's also a risk he becomes a huge albatross contract that weighs down the team for years. For some reason GMs are deathly afraid of the former (don't wanna look like the Blazer with Bowie over MJ), but not the latter.
Resident Lillard truther since 2015.
