For better or worse Russell is currently the face of the franchise. We haven't had an exciting young prospect in a very long time so why would we hinder his progress by benching him?

It would be cuz Kenny thinks it's best for both the future of Russell and the team.

Before we ship Lin, we need to see how Russell functions as a full time 1. I'd love to have a back court of Russell / LeVert starting but I'm not sold on him as an actual PG yet. I know that's what he played in college and he has NBA experience there but personally, I gotta see it on a daily basis before I decide how I feel. His game has always screamed playmaking 2 to me. I think making him the primary ball handler is too much pressure on him. It looks like he's geared up to be the sorta backup PG, so we'll see plenty of it.

Is there a comparable player that can move seamlessly to the 1 full time? Harden did it on offense but he's a top 5 kind of guy.

Agreed. Except he actually played mostly SG in college, he won the SG of the year award. He played SG most of his life until his junior year in high school.

I see it as a lin issue because I think if DLo didn't pose a direct threat to Lin's position as *the* guy, then he wouldn't be taking the stance. The arguments that stem from Lin based agendas belong in the Lin thread imo. Even non lin issues that have an effect of lin (whether direct or indirect) belong in the lin thread. I don't see the lin thread as a lin thread, I see it as a lin fans thread. If your main concern is lin, keep it in the lin thread. And I do believe the root of Chokes argument is Lin.

I don't see it that way since people can be skeptical of DLo regardless of Lin. And again, I've seen a lot of extremely Linsane homers (including myself many times!), but Choke hasn't been one of them. His comments are usually of the anodyne variety. But this is just my opinion. Anyways, once we get the season going, this will all be moot.

Looks like me, Lowe, Eagle and Markinson (Prok too in this case?) are more anodyne while many fans have been overly excited on this topic.

If we want playoffs:

Starters Dlo-Levert-DMC-RHJ-Moz
Bench: Lin-Dinwiddie- Crabbe/Harris -Acy - Allen/Booker


This is the most balanced approach IMO. Lin/Russell are somewhat redundant together and I feel Levert brings something different. RHJ/DMC need to be our starting forwards for this season... they can cause havoc defensively.
