Most importantly, i saw Collins in there with old ass Kendrick Perkins and Richard Jefferson and was just praying Bud would take him out. You could tell both of those guys were looking to hurt the kid as they didn't like him beating them down the court and jumping over them. I hope he's ok. I was a big fan of Perkins but i think he's back just to hurt people, and when i say people i mean Draymond.

There is a major (although premature) take away from this game. We've upgraded our talent evaluator. Delaney, Moose, Baze are looking not so good. Prince looked pretty good in this game though. Dedmon, Collins, Dorsey, Cook are looking as good or much better. Nailed some jumpers. Brussino is showing promise. Still not much from Babbit though.

So far i'm not buying Baze as a starter. Not when Marco is there.

Baze is that rare player who in a limited role brings down a starting lineup but move him to the reserves in an expanded role also brings down the bench. He really needs to be on a deep team having a limited role and playing off the bench against reserves to make an impact.

Agreed. His "breakout" year there was much less ball handling. It was spot up shooting and cuts to the hoop. Now he's driving to drive like he's D Wade and he's all arms and legs and easy steals. I still think he'll have a decent year but someone needs to get in his ear about what his strengths are.

#Spazmore is an ultra reserve. Unfortunately we got fooled into panic-paying him. It's bittersweet because he does appear to be a pretty good guy overall. Just miscast in his role as a starting wing player. He's getting paid too much to come off the bench although that's clearly where he belongs.

I'll end with the important stuff ... so is Magette Budz illegitimate son or what? I can't be the only one that sees that.

Which is the worst Free Agent signing for us: Dwight or Bazemore?

IMO, D12 is less useful, but paying Bazemore that much was mind-numbingly dumb. He...isn't good. One was a gamble, the latter was just foolish.

They were both bad but for different reasons. We got conned by Howard. Baze was a panic/bad GM move. Bazemore was worse because it's a pretty close to un-tradeable deal.

He's a bench player we're paying as if he's an all-star. Despite the money, we just need to pull back on what we ask him to do. See if he flourishes in a reduced role.

Right now i think it's Baze but he still has a chance to improve. Dwight was a gamble that didn't really pay off but we knew it was a gamble. It wasn't Dwight's fault really. He did what he has done for the last 7 or 8 years.

Oh well, it's a new day and I have a lot of hope in these guys in the following order: Collins, Prince, Bembry, Dorsey, Brussino. Also would love to just sign Dedmon to a multi year deal.

Just finished watching...I love how our young guys are strong. Usually young teams are physically weak but not with Prince/Collins/Dedmon. Dedmon is just super functionally strong and Prince has some really strong hands.

Baze had a nice dunk but...:-/

Dorsey rose up nice for a straight away 3..

Good stuff!

Ps For a minute there I was watching Korver in a shoot around and Ersan in a defensive charge contest ..

Dorsey had a nice and quick drive to the hoop too. He missed some shots but for 20 minutes of play 9 point, 4 rebounds, 2 assists from your SG ain't too shabby.

You sure about Babbit? He's our Kyke Korver at the PF spot.
Moose is on his way to flunking out of Bud-U. He has shown nothing so far in these 2 games.

Dennis has 9 assists to 1 turnover in 2 games. I judge Dennis based on turnovers.

Oh i'm a big fan. I was just saying he hasn't done much in these 2 games. I'm assuming he's going to be our biggest pleasant surprise this season.

Babbit looks really slow out there. Like lumbering slow. I prefer to root for that Brusselsprouts kid to blow up.

:D
Since Hawks are expected to lose most all of their regular season games, we fans must really enjoy any and every
pre season game that we are privileged to see. I intend to do this.

I enjoyed watching all these new Hawks as they soared against the Cavs, who were very limited because their great
King James didn't get to play. Someone said, and I agree, Perkins came in to injure and intimidate our young Hawks.

We were told that the Cavs have more players under contract than the NBA allows so at least one must go. They
may pull off a 2 for 1 deal and add another star to King James's team.

Speed, quickness abounds with this new Hawk team. And, they can shoot! Our own roster is overloaded. Some are
bound for our new G league team and some we wonder about. Where will they go and do they really fit in. So many
questions and such a short time to get answers.

Eternal optimist. Those who have known me and followed my rantings about players who can't hit their free throws,
also know that I always expect to win that next game, no matter where, when or who the opponent is. It's going to
be hard for me to believe in that mid 20's as the maximum for victories for this team.

If that's the case, I will celebrate each and every win that comes our way, pre season or regular season, when they
count. In my opinion, this Hawk team is too good to be as bad as those experts believe. After the team looking
like an 0-82 season flop in the first quarter against the Cavs, the real Hawks showed up!

I noticed we have one injured player expected back for the next game. How is our rookie after last night and has
any one heard anything about the health of Plumlee?

8-)

Collins should play. Plumlee is out.

I think the Hawks have already started the quest to get insurance to pay Plumlee's salary.

3-5 from 3 in this game with 4 rebounds and 1 steal in 16 minutes? He's not fleet-a-foot but he's here to shoot 3s. Moose play 15 minutes and had zero points.

I like John Wayne Babbitt and Brussels Belgium...one can shoot, the other can pass...as joe Pesci says in goodfellas..one dog goes one way and the other dog goes the other way...and the look at the old guy..he's like .."whaddya want from me?"

I like them both. But I think Brussino is here for the long haul and Babbitt is another deadline shooter to be dealt to a contender for a draft pick. I mean he's 28 years old!
