Doesn't look like that reported 9 foot standing reach, which also means his vertical is insane for him to dunk like the one where he bruised his forehead on the rim.

Jabari offensive play potential continues to provide hope for the future. Others have been unimpressive by comparison in the preseason.

If I had to guess, I'd say he went from lower 30s pre Suki to upper 30s in the AoS (Age of Suki). Outside of testing conditions, I wouldn't be surprised if he can top 40 and may have when he pulled the rim into his forehead, but he also did pull the rim down/himself up.

Jabari's bionic. He reminds me of Jax from Mortal Kombat.

Just keep rebuilding it and fortifying it.

I have zero doubt that Jabari will come back every bit as good as he was last season. He's a freak of nature.

I have many doubts his ACL's will hold up under the relentless barrage of stress his body puts on them.

That's where I'm at. Will he come back and be good? Yes. Will his knees (and other body parts) hold up over the course of a long term mega contract? That's the $100+ million dollar question.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Yep, this is exactly where I've been this whole time. I'm confident he'll come back and look like his normal self by the end of the year. But he's only one little misstep away from being out another year again. I honestly don't know what I want to do with him long-term; it really all depends on his value around the league.

I think where I'm at right now is: I'd be okay trading him if we were getting a borderline all-star type talent back, but beyond that, I think I'd rather just see what happens in restricted free agency and likely bring him back and just hope for the best. It's a really tough call though. I don't like the idea of trading him for a couple meh pieces just to be rid of the uncertainty around his body.

Even if you put him in a metal knee brace that turns him into someone who plays at Glenn Robinson speed, he's still 20+ppg on a team desperate for points. Add in the intangibles -- co-development of a young and promising core, high character, etc. -- and the value proposition becomes clear. You have to keep him.

And not just keep him -- let him find his playing speed, whatever it turns out to be (and also develop as a defender). It's certainly reasonable to acknowledge some concerns, but there's no reason for them to be any more prominent than GSW worries about Steph Curry's ankles.

What is a realistic timeframe for his return? Gotta be sometime around March right? Unless he truly is a freak and is doing better in his rehab than he did the first time.

I just hope they put two or three ACLs in there, while they had him cut open. Gives us some mulligans

15 minutes a night of offense to finish the season plus hopefully playoffs could be a very nice boost.

Long term his ideal role is a 20ish mpg gunner. Simply this role and let him guard lesser bench players for the most part.

Yeah i think now Snell will be locked in as a starter although you have to ask if the lineup of Brogdon/Snell/Mids/Giannis/Thon can't be dominant defensively then does it really matter?

If that line up (eventually) isn't a top 5 defensive, then it absolutely doesn't matter. That is basically your most ideal "long" and "versatile" defense possible. If that can't work, then just give it up

If that will be his role, maybe it would be better to have kept Beasley with 3m per year

So James Johnson is his ideal role, huh?

If Parker turns into James Johnson with a better shot he's a superstar.

If Beasley wasn't batsh*t crazy for sure. I will say, Beasley will be a better value at 3mil per than Jabari on his next contract without any hesitation.

Pretty much. He's not going to be such an elite scorer where you can justify him playing 32+mpg. His defense is that bad. Add in the strain heavy minutes you're putting on what's left of his knee and you're asking for trouble.

People need to quit with the dream that Jabari is going to be the savior we hoped when we drafted him #2. You're only going to be disappointed.

We don't need the Savior. We just need John the Baptist.
