I can't believe Howard didn't get picked. If I had known he'd last, I would definitely have skipped the Piston trio to get Chris Paul then grabbed Howard in the 3rd round to really load up my starting 5 versus having a deeper bench.

I didn't think CP3 would last past you, or even get that high in the 2nd round.

I didn’t think Pistons trio would last to me so Paul/DAJ/? was my plan. I thought getting 3 guys who are usually early/mid-round pick was better than CP3. There were some surprising picks that created additional trios available that caused some drops.

I realized after picking Nance and Price that Penny and Grant could have been paired. I'd have strongly considered them. Also thought about Gilmore and Gervin instead of Thurmond and Barry but I'd have had to tweak other seasons.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Picking Dirk over Kobe was a mistake. There were far more options for filling out the PG and big man spots than having to build a perimeter group entirely from scratch.

Your bench is a weakness but the starting lineup is top 3 for me

I was very torn on how to use my last pick. I elected to go with the bpa pf in AD over depth. Babbitt is one of the worst players in this game, but I like my 2 backups from the old Celtics. Admittedly, i know very little about their games, but solid advanced numbers and both have all defensive nods.

I didn't mind the Dirk/low FGAs strategy, for me though I feel you could have done more damage in the 3rd round than George/Stephenson/Hibbert with the room to go after a superstar there

I needed a good defensive wing there and George was the best one available. Maybe I could have gone for a bigger name, but I tend to think raw talent is overvalued a lot of the time. Even on my current team there are barely enough touches to keep Dirk, Clyde, Porter, and PG involved in any meaningful way.

I have your teams as a dead heat in my ranks (I have you both in the top 6, that and Laimbeer/Snell are both brutal matchups), but I might be in the minority

I considered Penny/Grant/Scott and T-Mac/Deek/filler in the 2nd as well.
