Very good pre season for Mathias Lessort : 13pts, 6reb, 2bl in 8 game. Played very well against very good oponents like Olympiacos, Kazan.
He is the starter at C in a very high ranked team in the Adriatic League (top 5 League in Europe).
Season starts tomorow, i'll give you monthly report (stats and videos).

From the US it's not the easiest, but actually the Adriatic League has a very good website with a lot of videos and he'll play the Euroleague too.

I still absolutely love this pick. Not only is he excellent on the glass and in protecting the rim, but he's a bigtime athlete that should be a fantastic finisher. Literally the perfect type of big from an attributes perspective.

Flipping Richaun for an asset or two would have probably always been part of my plan because re-signing role players isn't ideal. This just makes me feel better about doing it.

Richaun is a more well-rounded talent, given his superior offensive skill, but Lessort is so strong in the things that matter. Rebounding, shotblocking, finishing.

Enjoying a year of Holmes and Johnson and then cutting bait with both of them in favor of Lessort and Bolden would be the route I'd take.

Good screens, good lateral moves playing PnR, good presence inside and physically we all can see that he's way more athletic than other players.
That's the difference when european players arrive in the NBA, mostly french players who are considered the most physicals and athletics in Europe, the difference is so big with the US, they need a time adaptation.

How are his feet defensively, can he defend the P&R effectively? He's far more athletic than I thought he was, perhaps he has a role in this league as a Clint Capela role.

He played in 2 diff League so far in his career : the French League where it's way more physical than the Adriatic League, but the spacing is diff, the systems are executed so differently.
I would say that playing overseas is a perfect prep for the NBA adaptation, trying to figure out how to step up and incorporate the right moves.
He clearly has a NBA body ready, now he just needs to improve his shoot from the perimeter and keep trying to read the game (PnR mostly) to be more ready to do the big jump into the NBA.
It'll come, i'm sure ! France always has produced very good players inside last years, combining strenght and inside skills. Plus his experience in the Adriatic League, i would say give him 2yrs max to be absolutely ready and also he needs a spot in the roster, Okafor is abt to leave, Holmes (?) ... lots of incertain things going on with the Sixers' roster.
Could be a very good material for a trade as well
