Cutting the cord/streaming Celtic games
Forgive me for not finding the old thread on this as the search function here at realgm is not highly accommodating but i just need some quick feedback before I execute my maneuver
So same story, new year. Dumping cable soon and looking for the best/most reliable method for streaming games in 2017 and beyond, not rly sure if anything has changed since last year hence the ask. Any input appreciated and if anyone wants to link the old thread here or just bump and continue the conversation there that would work also, thanks

Legal: League pass
Illegal: Reddit
I would say they are even in terms of reliability, which is excellent, you'll have some occasional lag with both but that's it.
In my personal experience, I had more technical issues with league pass but that's just me.

Just Google nba streams. Free to watch but not good quality. For good quality pay NBA streaming pass.

I do value reliability and quality but I've heard league pass blacks out national Celtic games and playoffs any truth to that?

I have been using the PSVue for about 9 months and have been very happy. 35 bucks a month. Direct TV has more channels but costs as much as Direct TV or Cable it felt like. Sling had some stumbling blocks for me.
As far as league pass if you live in the Boston area League Pass will black you out but google is your friend on that it isn't very complicated.

PSVue is awesome. I love it.
It is very much a "traditional" television experience though. Not sure what your reasons for cord cutting are, Sichting, but if you were trying to get away from channel surfing it may not be for you.

Yep. I've also had more tech issues with League Pass, not to mention that it's pretty annoying that they don't include nationally televised games (NBA TV, TNT, ESPN, ABC), which these days is a real issue now that the C's are good again. Also, when you travel, you'll need VPN. I cut the virtual cord from League Pass.

Re: Cutting the cord/streaming Celtic games
If you are in the Boston area, PSVue and YouTube TV are great options, though, with YouTube TV, you will need a Chromecast or Apple TV which you will probably have if you are cutting the cord. Google will actually send you a free Chromecast after one month of YouTube TV service.
I had PSVue for some time and actually prefer the quality of that service over YouTube TV, but with YTV, I can actually split service costs with my brother significantly reducing the cost so it works best for me from a value standpoint (Vue is $45 a month, but YouTube TV is $35 and split with my brother it is $17.50). You can't use PSVue outside your home location TV or phone, but you can with YouTube TV making splitting easy.
Biggest issue with YouTube TV is no TNT so I will have to switch to PSVue from April to June, which is fine with me. The cost savings with YouTube TV the other 9 months make it worth it for me. That's what it is great about cord cutting, IMO. No contracts and online subscriptions make it easy to hop from service to service.
If you aren't in the Boston area, then League Pass is likely your best legal option.

This is what I do. It's a pretty good lineup for $35. You also get NESN, NFL Network and MLB Network. For Patriots I have an HD antenna which picks up all the network games really well.

Couldn't recommend this more. Cut the cord a while back, and reddit is the source of my sports streams (NBA, NFL, cricket etc). And if you have Kodi, they have a few good add-ons as well. But reddit should be your first choice... Cable TV providers can go screw.

In market, psvue for $35 a month gives you EVERYTHING a sports guy needs. Love vue, especially no contract part. Cable charges u for broadcast fees, equipment fees, regional sports network fees, had fee. Screw them. Go vue and get everything.

Reddit, Kodi etc. it is stealing, don't care how you rationalize it, and one day the league and teams will find a way to shut it down. Then, u gotta figure out a way to beat them again. Sick of escaping the mouse trap.

Re: Cutting the cord/streaming Celtic games
League Pass blackouts are really irritating but if you're like me and you can't watch anything live anyway, then it's not a big factor. I believe everything is available for viewing the next day.
More irritating is how crappy the platform is - buggy and laggy. The inescapable commercials no fun either.

It is... and it isn't. Someone is paying for it and they are sharing it with the rest of us. And I think we have paid WAY more than our dues to those leeches. And when one avenue closes, another always opens...

But paying for Vue isn't really cord cutting. You pay for the internet and vue, which essentially is your new 'cable' bill... So what have you achieved?

No different than PSVue, Sling, or DirectTV NOW. Just another online cable provider. I'm using it because it's fairly easy to share with family members compared to other services.
