Cavs at Indiana 7:30
I imagine most people, like myself, are watching the Indians play the Yankees but I thought I'd start a thread anyway.

Rose looks very good, he is going to give teams trouble especially off the bench eventually.

This is the best I have seen Rose (body/quickness/shots/passing etc) since his MVP and 2012 season.

I cannot believe the Indians game is: (1) still going on; & (2) tied in the 9th inning.

Raise your hand if thought the Indians game would end after the Cavs game that started two and half hours later.

I really wanted to watch Tavares tonight but the Indians decided to make history. I take it he wasn't very good? Calderon is the guy who no longer looks like an NBA player to me.

I saw 10 minutes and fell asleep but travers looks bad and even if he played ok he's not really playable vs warriors.
RJ, along with frye like I said are good for the team. RJ actually can give 5-10 decent minutes against the warriors, based on last season at least. Won't have to use him as primary defender on KD this time which will help.

RJ seems like a great locker room guy and is pretty close to the Lebron and Love. Plus that roadtrippin podcast is awesome so I definitely don't want to see him go.
Wade and Rose look good.
I'm worried about our 3pt shooting, though. Lebron will generate better looks for guys, but playing Rose and Wade in the same lineup will be tough to swallow. IT will add a much needed outside threat, but once he comes back, I'm not sure how Rose will accept being the 7-8th man... He's fighting for a comeback contract, too.

I think Frye still has some value, but Felder and Tavares are G leaguers. I also think Jefferson will be this seasons James Jones, though he doesn't seem capable of making a 3 at this point. Every 3 he takes hits the front of the rim. But, on a positive note Korver actually hit a 3 last night so that's progress.
Is it me or is Wade always falling down on the court? He looks very old to me, kind of like when Shaq was here but not quite as bad.

I feel great about wade and rose off the bench. You dont need a bunch of 3 pointers from your bench you need scorers, high iq players and a little grit. You still cant sag off those guys and leave them wide open.

I was watching 2 tv's at once so I wasn't completely focus'd on Cavs. But what I saw of Tavares he still looks "lost" on the Offensive end when there isn't a play being run that he has done 100 times with the same players, esp with the line up not used to playing together by my impression. He is not a high enough IQ player to improvise on the fly so it seems.
He still is serviceable as a 3rd center option, maybe even the back up if he gets enough reps without having to make on the fly decisions ,but I don't see them keeping him unless he is seen as a viable option inserted into the line up with Lebron (Wade or Rose) and Crowder when Love is resting where he can be effective getting lobs and blocking shots at the rim.
RJ for all his intangibles and locker room attributes etc just looks beyond the point of reliability in the rotation. Maybe we will keep him around for awhile esp if Tavares and Felder are the axe recipients , but I think at the least he will be moved probably with Frye at the deadline.
The one hope Tavares has, is Zizic appears to have a lot of adjusting to do from the Euro league rules, and to the type of game Lue is wanting from this team and so will probably be in Canton most of the first half of the year imo but has a much better skill set than Tavares even as a rookie.
Calderon looked worse than Felder.

This was unimaginable to me and yet appears to be true.

He looked terrible and I would not be surprised if we eat his contract and put felder on the 2nd two-way. I would waive both myself.
We have got to solve the lack of defense at the 1. The majority of posters do not like my idea of Shumpert in that role, and I would tend to agree it is unlikely to come to fruition given Wade and Rose are more traditional distributors and ball handlers.
However since that is unlikely to happen, where is our defensive first pg to throw against elite offensive pg's? Have not seen that Liggins has been pickup anywhere. What are we waiting for is my question/
