Any thoughts about Magette playing ahead of Quin Cook last night?
Is it possible that Cook get's cut and we go into the season with 14 players?
If so, does that mean that Magette gets an NBA call from from GL for some games?
If so, do we start the season with only 2 Pgs - again?

Geez. I know this was preseason but the Hawks have a problem and it's PG. As other's have said Delaney is...not the answer. But I don't think Dennis is up to the task of playing this style. Both of those guy's favorite thing to do on the court is call their own number. Dennis is just going drive and get blocked and drive and miss till the cows come home all while competent 3 point shooters are standing wide open. We're supposed to be moving the ball and these two just hold the ball and both seem to think they are Steph Curry.

I think last night we saw just how bad this team can be.

yEAH. For years I wanted Dennis as starter, but understood we needed a proven veteran backup PG to mentor/platoon with DS.

We now largely have three unproven options at PG. Two of which are likely not NBA caliber talent.

Then I see the 30 year old rookie PG in LAC and wonder how we missed a talent like that for fringe talent in Cook and Delaney.

I still really like Dennis, but I envisioned him as the young sparkplug on a veteran team. DS can't be the centerpiece of a young, unproven team with no clear options behind him.

I'm just hoping that Bud is harder on him this year than ever. We have shooters and slashers. Dennis has to find them. This coming down and driving into traffic has to stop. And what happened to his pull up and floater? We're back to everything off the glass, 90% on the right side. NBA is too smart for that playground shiz.

I honestly don't know how Delaney gets a pass from Bud. He tries to play like he's Joe Johnson but I knew Joe, watched him play everynight, and you sir are no Joe Johnson.

Dennis is getting way too predictable. Anybody doing some decent scouting knows his move to the basket, which is why he gets stuffed a bunch at the rim.

You have to keep guys guessing and pass out to an open man when the defense collapses. That will only help his opportunities at the rim as it keeps the defense on its toes. It's like he has made up his mind before he even gets there and everybody knows it.

The amount of turnovers this team will average is going to be a horror movie

:o :o

Dallas hit 19 threes. Hawks hit 9.
Hawks missed 9 free throws.

When yo can't score and you can't stop your opponent from scoring there remains no doubt to the final outcome.

Were we preparing for our 0-82 season? Dennis was our leader in this, if it is so! He's not supposed to sleep walk
the entire time he's on the floor.

Tranis and Bud now have the job of naming the final roster and waving by by to some Hawks. Will we keep what's
there? Or, could we do a trade or sign someone who another team released?

10/18 @ Dallas and the real season begins. With Plumlee out, who will be available? Anyone remember a Hawk
named Speedy? Is Plumlee our modern day Speedy?

Plumlee is our Splitter but the difference is the Hawks don't really care if Plumlee can play. I don't expect him to get much time.

I wish i could have seen more of Cook in preseason but i guess he doesn't have Bud's backing based on his limited PT. Hoping Bembry plays a lot of point this year.

I HOPE Cook is waived, Bembry is promoted to backup PG and Edy Tavares is signed to an empty roster spot.

I seen Plumlee as our modern day Tim McCormick. Played for us a year or two a while back. But yes pretty much will be our speedy unless we attach him to a deal and get him outta dodge.

Ps Gramps I'm not sure if this was inadvertent but you called Travis Tranis...lol...I like the nickname.

What's the deal on Magette? He's the 15th player? If he is playing Gleague can we add another?

He has a Two-way contract. He can play games with us until the GL starts on November 3rd.

Magette feels like a Bud project but his G league stats are pretty impressive. 16/9 with 1.5 steals and 5 rebounds a game. Shot 35% from 3 last year. Needs to grow a beard though.

^I expect he will be like another coach on the floor for the kids in Erie.

I like the player for that role and give kudos to the decision to build our G League team around him this season.

(Probably Bud, since Magette was the last player cut from our 2016 preseason roster.)
