...when i've seen him play he never seems to actually 'run'. And when he catches the ball it's like he can no longer see any other players on the court and has to just find a way to shoot. It's kind of harsh judgement considering how little i've seen of him recently but every time i see him play i remember 'oh yeah, that's why he never played for us'.

Yeah, he looked usable under Larry Drew. But Budenholzer put him in the doghouse early and locked the door. I always thought he'd become useful on another squad under a coach with a wide open system.

He did not. Clearly, the kid has struggled just to stay in the league.

An indictment on Ferry or on JJ2?

He was considered a reach at the time and in hindsight we passed on useful NBA players like Tony Wroten, Festus Ezeli and Kyle O Quinn. Starting caliber players like Will Barton, Jae Crowder and Khris MIddleton. And a top 20 player in Draymond Green.

That's a lot of talent to bypass for a one dimensional player who's bounced around the league.

NOTE: People often forget just how bad a drafter Danny Ferry was.

Yes. Yes, I do.

He's got good range, decent size and it'd be a nice story in what's likely to be an otherwise gloomy, forgettable season.

I have to think running him off screens all day, he could nail 2-3 open jumpers and serve as a sporadic source of offense off the bench.

No, no I don't.
1. We drafted Tyler Dorsey
2. They're both 6'-4" shooting guards
3. One is 21 the other 26
4. I think Tyler has a better handle.
5. I think Tyler looks quicker.

Since its a youth movement, might as well have Tyler.
But I think he'll see a lot of the GLeague.

Having Green or Crowder would have been amazing but i'd have taken Will Barton any day. Agree with jay, would rather see Dorsey play.

Nah, ship sailed on that guy IMHO. Give his minutes to Dorsey.

The real reason I said 'nah' is 'cause Jamaaaaaaaaaliver said 'yes'. I gotta disagree with everything he says. :)

I get that we need a top 5 pick this year but I'm just imagining how fun it would be this year if this group of players uses fluid passing, motion offense, and the 3 point shot to make the playoffs and possibly make some noise. I'm so conflicted.

I think that's just people coming up with their own new designs. Maybe they sell them though?

Probably for nothing more than a protected 2nd. Plan is to probably buy Jefferson out and keep Felder as a 3rd PG.

RJ probably won't even accept the flight to Atlanta...lol...I like Tiny Felder though I was kinda upset we traded him during the draft. He's small but fiesty...at least he was in college.

Hawks get Felder, Jefferson (who they will buy out) and cash for rights to some European who will never play in the NBA.

Cavs do it to get down to a 15-man roster.

And now Woj is reporting that Felder will likely be waived.

Hawks did this to get 2 future 2nd rounders from the Cavs for essentially nothing. Schlenk continues using that extra cap space to stockpile picks

Trav is accumulating a helluva war chest of draft picks. He's clearly got a big move up his sleeve.

Kudos to him for taking advantage of the plethora of draft and stash players we still hold the rights to.

He reminds me a ton of John Coppol...never mind.

Hawks sold the Felder pick to Cavs 2 years ago for $3 mil, now we get him back for free plus a 2nd. Good deal.
