Is Felder eligible for our GL team?

This is interesting....
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the two picks Atlanta receives will be the worse of the Timberwolves and the Lakers pick in 2019 and the Trail Blazers pick in 2020.The pick from Portland is protected from 31-55 so it’s unlikely that one will convey, but the Minnesota/Los Angeles pick should have some value

Portland will have to finish with a top 5 record in 2020 for the pick to convey to us.

We are gonna be one of the better teams in the NBA by 2019 or 2020. Top 5 team is my guess.

1. I definitely hope you're right.

2. There is absolutely a path available to quickly return to prominence in the East.

With a top-5 pick and a reasonable amount of cap space, we could snatch a couple of top players, package some of our current talent for a proven vet and challenge Boston at the top of the post-LeBron East.

The question is: will Trav settle for a quick rebuild or prefer a longer path toward contention?

Either way with all these assets in the next two years you have to figure we will have a couple good young prospects and hopefully a couple free agent signings or a huge trade. I feel a lot more confident about our rebuild this time around more so than in 90...95....2000....2003...

Trav certainly seems confident in his scouting/drafting abilities.

His first offseason in charge merits a solid B-. A good first step, if completely painful.

I certainly have more faith in his asset management skills than his predecessors.

NOTE: I'm looking forward to a combo of Bembry and Dorsey off the bench as an interchangeable pg/sg pairing. That's gonna be incredibly fun.

This one was a no-brainer:

If we're being fair, this goes down in the win column for the Bud/Cox regime.

I'm giving the Collins pick to BudCox as well (at least 75%). I posted an article awhile back that one of the minority owners who is a WF alum, had the scouting dept. and front offuce take a look at him very early. Plus Schlenck did say he didn't disrupt/discount what the scouting dept and BudCox did since b4 his hire he was scouting players at the end of the 1st round.

Such a loaded tweet. That all was by design to acquire picks IIRC. Dude could atleast give the full picture. Or just pander to the non-Hawk fan masses who don't know or care about the deeper story.

Yeah, it's time. Tired of tangentially hearing all this baseball talk. I've grown to hate the NFL and my Jackets have beaten themselves twice this year :banghead: so I'm ready to focus on my Hawks.

I'm ready. Falcons can't score in the second half of anything so second half of the season seems pointless. I'm hoping at some point to see this lineup: Bembry/Marco/Prince/Ersan/Collins.

I hope all this penny pinching results in a superstar.

You ain't kidding, brother.

One thing I'll give Travis: these are some of the more imaginative/complex deals in recent Hawks history. If he can concoct deals with this many moving parts on small trade proposals, it bodes well for his ability to craft a larger, more impactful trade in the future.

(We've sat on a number of these 'stash and draft' picks for years with no benefit or use for them. Travis has taken advantage multiple times in a matter of months. He's definitely a chess player, thinking 3 moves ahead of everyone else.)
