I don’t think we can do it without him. I hope we overcome the adversity but it’s hard to see.

Seager only batted .273 during the NLDS. While he did get a triple, 4 walks, and scored 3 runs, I think his production can be matched by someone else (hopefully).

Today is the 3 year anniversary of the Stan Kasten hiring Andrew Friedman.

Big picture, I cannot complain. They’re doing an excellent job and this team has a great shot at winning it all.

the best move for this franchise since luring a University of Cincinnati basketball player to try out pitching in 1955 by the name of Sandy.

The guy is hurt so bad he can’t even pinch hit. Unreal.

we can do it. I am more curious of Dave's lineup. without Corey but adding Joc and Culbertson, it will be interesting.

and oh BTW, it's Jose Quintana like I thought. against the lefty, we should go

1 SS R Taylor
2 3B R Turner
3 1B L Bellinger
4 RF R Puig
5 C R Barnes
6 CF R ****
7 2B R Forsythe
8 LF L Granderson ( only because his career split is slightly better than Joc)

the lineup certainly looks lighter in power, but against a lefty like Jose Q, Seager wasn't gonna be an impact bat with his current injuries to his throwing arm and now his back.
ehhhhh f it.

an alternative lineup...

1. CF R Taylor
2. SS R **** ( he kills lefties, and if the pitching change brings a RHP, swap him with Utley, and Taylor plays SS and Joc goes to CF)
3. 3B R Turner
4. 1B L Bellinger
5. RF R Puig
6. C R Barnes
7. LF L Granderson
8. 2B R Forsythe
ehhhhh f it.

Im excited. with or without Corey I think we are still the favorites. we have our pitching rotation in order, we have well rested lineup. they are road weary, rotation out of wack and spent bullpen. and we have the home field. we just need Dave not to take Kershaw past 6 innings unless his pitch count is less than 75 after 6. what we consider the borderline during regular season at 100, is really 90 in playoffs for some pitchers. Clayton is much more focused from his usual intense mindset in post season, we must treat his 90 to be the regular season 100.

When facing left-handed pitching, I think **** can easily match the production Corey gave us in the NLDS and I can live with Utley taking the at-bats against right-handers. I'd like to avoid having either Joc or Granderson in the lineup, but that is only going to happen if Grandal is playing and he's worse as a right-handed batter. I have a hard time stating this, but Ethier may be our best option.

Culberson's Start

Post#510 » by Ranma » Sat Oct 14, 2017 9:38 pm

All things considered, I think we actually upgraded our defense with Culberson at SS and **** in LF. **** taking over for an ailing Seager shouldn't hurt us offensively while Culberson basically takes Granderson's spot in the lineup, which is at least a draw.

hey I was close. moving up Turner and Bellinger is the correct move by Dave, bravo.

starting Culbertson on the other hand, isn't a surprise but wonder if not having played all this time may impact his game. hopefully he isn't rusty.

I like this lineup. especially putting Puig in the 7th hole gives us a much longer lineup. **** in the clean up tho, Dave likes doing it and I understand in ****'s career, hitting cleanup has been his best statistical spot, but that came in 12 plate appearances and 10 at bats. not sure him hitting .400 as a clean up really means anything to have him there.

but then again, I am certain that lineup card didn't come from Dave, but rather from Andrew, Alex, and Farhan.

oh, and with two lefties starting against each other in game 1 and 2 for both teams, I think the advantage is on us, or rather our roster due to Seager's health. with **** in the starting lineup with his .946 OPS this season against lefties and .883 in career, he is the superior option offensively against a lefty over our MVP Corey.
ehhhhh f it.

Under what circumstances can Corey come back during the NLCS?

Justin Verlander, a guy who has come up smaller than his stature in Octobers, threw a gem today.

It’s your turn Clayton.

Seager's Path to NLCS

As an injury replacement. If Culberson were theoretically put on the DL, Seager could replace him but Culberson would be unavailable for the World Series.

I did not expect Verlander to get the 9th.

Let’s see where this goes.

Altuve with the poor base running.

But it put pressure on Didi to make a throw and on Sanchez to catch it clean and tag him.

Electrifying moment there.
What October is about and why I enjoy these offs more than the other 3.
