Bledsoe has never been a pass first point guard and has a crappy assist-to-turnover ratio. So does it matter if we hand primary ball handling duties over to these two youngsters? Roll with

Booker
Jackson
Warren
Chriss
Chandler

Suns should try this and see the results. I'm really interested how it would work. Booker is getting lots of assists this preseason. Jackson has reputation of good passer even if he hasn't show this much so far. Could also put Bender instead of Chriss for more passing.

Wow, Okafor is playing in the G-League this season.......35 year old Emeka that is! Crazy. Even crazier is that he hasn't played in an NBA regular-season game since April 15, 2013. 2013 PEOPLE!!! Thats insane! Make you feel old yet?

Wasn't Burke just signed a couple days ago? Strange. Morrow is an old man by NBA standards. It's a bummer Perry Jones never progressed. He had an intriguing modern NBA skill set. Green is what he is, as we well know. I don't think he would help us much since we seem committed to Troy Daniels.

4. TJ
5. Chriss
6. Bender
7. Dudley
8. Len
9. Chandler
11. Sauce (injured.)
12. Ulis
13. DJJ
14. Daniels
15. Reed (injured.)
16. James
17. Peters
18. Knight (injured roster exempt.)

Yeah with those being 17 we are full. Only 2 2-way contracts allowed, I believe and Peters and James have them. I don't see DJJ being waived to make room for him.

Spoiler:
1. Bledsoe

3. JJ
4. TJ
5. Chriss
6. Bender

I'd do it for Knight in a heartbeat, but that can never happen. I'd maybe do Peters. I just dont believe he is a NBA player. Id probably give Perry Jones a shot over Peters as well.

From AZCentral.com "The Suns waived veteran guard Elijah Millsap and 20-year-old prospect Tidjan Keita Saturday, bringing their roster to 17 players. Phoenix can carry 17 players throughout the season as long as two of the players are on two-way contracts, as is the case with James and draft pick Alec Peters.

Millsap and Keita, who signed with the Suns on Friday, are expected to be the third and fourth “affiliate” players to join the Northern Arizona Suns, Phoenix’s G League team. The other affiliate players are Anthony Bennett and Peter Jok."

JMac1 wrote:Finally, people are finally coming around to letting Booker run the Point. I said that after the Miami game his rookie year and people blasted me for it.......Oh well. I'm always ahead of the curve. Always thought passing was more effective then running the ball too....took the NFL 35 years to figure it out.

You will note that you were not alone in this since his rookie season. In basketball you have to figure out how to create advantages, and a guy who handles as well as Book does, and shoots as well as he does will attract a lot of attention with the ball in his hand. That will create opportunities from the top of the key, on the break and in the post. That is a very exploitable advantage for a young team, also. It will be even better if Jackson can share those duties, though he will need to work on his passing/TO skills a bit. That lineup will need a killer rebounder, though. Board to Chandler, outlet to Booker, Finish to Jackson.

I think that we are 17 including Knight.
Two way players are James and Peters.

Oh, man. I messed up. So don't we have 1 spot for the roster exemption or did we not get it?

I really don't know.

I just found this...
Albert Nahmad: Suns are eligible to apply for a $6.8M disabled player exception for Brandon Knight (torn ACL), but could lose it pending roster decisions.

Was that on twitter? I wonder what roster decisions effect it? Do we have to be at max roster spots to start the season?

Also, is the disabled player exception a cap exception, an extra roster spot, or both?

Yeah, it was on twitter.
It looks like we aren't gonna use it, but I'm not an expert about it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's a signing/ cap exception, and because we are so far under it has no value to us anyway.

It's not a roster spot exception as far as I'm aware.

Chris's, Bender, Dudley (IR), Peters (2w)

There is no injured roster exemption I am aware of. There is a exception that allows you to exceed the salary cap to sign a player at 1/2 the salary of another player but only if your team is over the cap, which is not the case for the Suns.

You can grow your roster by one if you apply for a hardship. That requires 4 players who have missed at least three games and are expected to miss more. I don't know if preseason games count. I imagine Dudley will be playing sometime in November so we could pick up a spare player for a short duration. Sad thing is James and Peters can only play 45 days for the Suns. If we want to sign either to the team for the rest of the season we would have to waive someone (Reed, Williams)

Reed & Williams aren't going anywhere. I don't know what James is gambling on. He has to be crossing his fingers hoping we bundle a bunch of players in a trade & free up a roster spot. I guess potentially we could move on from DJJ considering there are virtually no SF minutes between JJ & TJ.
