That's a rule that I've heard about before, anyone that knows more than me care to explain it and how it applies to the Jets there? Because that was just bizarre.

I think it's a case of the rule being awful rather than the call itself being awful.

If you fumble it out of the end zone the other team gets the ball (an awful rule to begin with).

To add insult to injury, the Jets runner probably did not actually fumble before scoring.

Well he definitely fumbled it, but idk how they could say he didn't recover before going out of the end zone.

But I've seen that happen before. It's just an awful, awful rule that needs to be changed.
