I like this bottom of the second. Kike-Logan-Barnes-Puig lineup is basically a classical leadoff, #2, #3, and a clean up in Tommy Lasorda's baseball.

Encouraging Signs

Post#708 » by Ranma » Mon Oct 16, 2017 12:09 am

Yeah, Hill looks sharp and I'm glad that Bellinger tried that bunt in the last inning. Lester already seems a little off and he's pitching on short rest. The Dodgers even hit him hard in the 1st inning.

**** finally gets on base. He had a disappointing Game 1 when I expected more from him. Forsythe just lined out prompting the TBS color commentator to note that 3 of the 5 batters Lester has faced have "hit the ball on the nose".

Maddeningly Managing

Post#715 » by Ranma » Mon Oct 16, 2017 12:15 am

Dude is still complaining about the out call from Culberson's slide on Contreras. It was clear by the rulebook that it was the right call. The play didn't even affect the outcome of the game and he wants to still focus on it despite dealing with a 0-1 deficit in the NLCS and a pitching staff on short rest. This seems unproductive to say the least.

yeah I know huh.

even with that play going Cubbie's way, it would still be 2-4 and the situation would not have changed.

I wanna say we’ll get Lester next time through but I thought that last time we faced him at home in October.

pitch count currently is 35(lester) to 30(hill) as long as our guy can go further, I say the odds are against the Northsiders.
