When they got the top pick and it looked like they were taking Fultz you couldn’t tell them anything about Fultz. They all mainly said he was the best prospect. Now they are trashing them lol. They are a strange bunch.

In addition every fan base overvalue their prospects/assets
I remember Sixers fans coming onto the Celtics forum saying OK4 was worth 2 BRK picks just a year ago.
Value of assets can change quick.

This move seems like a big coaching mistake from the outside looking in. It would be one thing if Fultz had a good vet to earn his stripes behind but I saw enough of Bayless in his Celtic stint to know he's pretty bad. I think asking Simmons to run point from day 1 is a mistake too.

Makes a lot more sense to me to start Fultz next to Redick and make him the half-court PNR initiator, with Simmons running fast breaks and doing Draymond Green stuff as a short roll man in the halfcourt.

Just my two cents - hoping Fultz takes the starting gig soon so I can enjoy watching you guys.

To be honest this makes little sense. Why is it a mistake to ask Simmons to run point from day 1 and not a mistake to ask Fultz to run point from day 1? They are both rookies.

Simmons is well in advance of Fultz at this point both on what plays the team runs (He has literally had 12 months of being taught the playbook) and health and talent wise.

No point in responding to him. He's clearly trolling and hasn't seen even a second our preseason games.

I love how the C fans come running to our board to talk up their own players or make veiled jabs at ours. Very insecure bunch. Very biased and their newest mods are some of the worst offenders.

Yeah, it wasn't exactly hard for C's fans to see Philly preseason games this preseason. Saw both of the match-ups versus Boston.

They've been telegraphing this move for a couple weeks. They already know.

Yup. The only people shocked and angered by this move are the people who said Fultz was the clear cut best prospect and if you disagreed with that and pointed out his flaws and weren’t enamored with him then that meant you were a hater. Well I guess Brown is a hater too.

Lol or.... It just means that Fultz has hardly played basketball since the draft and is hurt....... Lets not use common sense though so we can fit our arguments. That works too

I think this is more about Simmons than fultz. He’s probably far ahead of what they expected and they want to put the best pieces around him immediately. Let fultz earn being one of those pieces. Seriously Simmons is about to shock a lot of people.

I actually like the fact that Fultz is focusing on penetrating and getting FGAs off at the rim. I think establishing himself as a dangerous slasher will open everything else up for him. I hope that the only time he shoots from distance is on assisted FGAs.

I think Dennis Smith hit the ground running in the NBA because he had a far superior offensive playstyle to Fultz. Markelle is playing catch-up. That year in Washington promoted a lot of bad habits.

I think Dennis Smith hit the ground running because he's a far superior athlete and other players can't guard him. Average athletes have to develop tricks to free themselves from NBA defenders.

It's actually hilarious how little you know about basketball. What isn't hilarious is the fact that you're 100% serious with your takes.

between dsj and fultz, fultz is going to end up being the more efficient player imo

I have a different take on Fultz than LloydB but this part seems pretty non-controversial. Smith's game starts with his ability to run around and through defenders so he could come right in and create right away; Fultz is more about finding rhythm and using his skill within space and he'll need a while to adjust to NBA space and speed. Nothing to disagree with there.

Comments like that have no place on the forum. There is plenty of room to disagree without going there.

Serious question- who's starting at PG on opening night?

Bayless or TJ?

Bayless because he fits more with Simmons. With Bayless, all 4 players around Simmons can hit the 3 point shot including Embiid

The guy watches every every college game he can get his eyes on and forms his own opinion, unlike the sheep who did cartwheels we when gave up #3 and another high lottery pick for the right to draft a guy who was not, is not, and will not be the best player from last year's draft.

You may disagree, but respect people's opinions, particularly when they are independent thinkers.

As for Markelle, he’s such a smart guy. You wouldn’t know that he’s a 19-year-old based on the way he’s doing things and expressing himself. On top of being extremely smart, he’s just really, really good. I don’t think most people have even gotten a chance to see how good he is yet. We’ve seen him in practice and it’s not fair. He’s going to get so many easy baskets out in transition. He’s going to get so many easy baskets for Joel and for our shooters. He can get into the paint whenever he wants and then he can either score or find an open man. He’s a special kid. One of the things that we’re trying to focus on this year is holding each other accountable, so I’ve been trying to help him with things like his diet. He already acts like a pro and he’s a great listener. My vets taught me a lot of things, so I want to pass them on to him and he’s been listening to everything we tell him. You can tell he’s going to be a special player because he wants to get better. He wants Coach Brown to coach him. He wants to learn from his teammates. He’s the ultimate teammate and the ultimate talent, and it’s easy to see why he deserved to be the No. 1 pick this year.

I wish Justin Anderson wasn't so bad at basketball because it sure seems like he brings everything else to the table.

Ben Simmons is starting at PG on opening night. Bayless will be the shooting guard that defends the opposition PG.
