Do you think he makes the final 15+2? I have a hard time seeing who he'd displace short of a roster spot clearing trade.

I think so. If Poythress signed the 2 way with Somner, then that leaves 2 more roster spots for Uthoff, Moore, Wilkins, Jones, and McKinney-Jones to compete for. I'm writing off Wilkins as a camp body with experience. So, my initial thoughts are Uthoff and Moore getting those 2 slots, and having to continue to earn them and keep GLeague all stars from taking their spots mid season.

I saw it and expected it to be just a camp signing, but if he does end up making the roster then good for him.

First time I have looked him up, but I see potential yes. In stats he was the best overall player of the Mad Ants last season.

Yeah. He and Poythress were the mid season call ups to the NBA from the Mad Ants. A true stretch 4 in the league (in style).

The best part is that he can block some shots too. Not so common for a (stretch) 4.

I'll look at the roster ... maybe I was miscounting. I thought Wilkins was the 15th signee in which case everyone was playing for his spot, but it looks like there is a second contested spot as well. Oh, I see it. The difference is that Seraphin is gone from the training camp roster.

I figure you need five guys that can defend the post. We have Turner, TYoung, Leaf, Sabonis, and Jefferson without counting the injured Ike. If Uthoff is a four, which is how I remember him from college, I think he's a long shot to make it. Now if he can defend the three, there is a much better chance.

Uthoff is a good player the forward rotation is pretty packed, Thad, Sabonis, Leaf seems like a lot of PF's.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Thad get traded. Especially if they could get a late #1 out of him.

I'm not on the trade Thad bandwagon although it wouldn't shock me particularly if at the deadline we're at the bottom of our expectations.

According to Nate, TJ is going to play the 3. Not sure I like that.

I like trying it but I can't see it working. Moore didn't show much in Orlando but I have hopes. Wilkins could be only serious option.

The final two spots will be Moore and Wilkins. With GRIII out till December, we will need bench shooting in the backcourt. Uthoff is redundant with Leaf.

Looks like Wilkins and Uthoff. Moore waived.

he has now been waived so we're down to 14.

I figured when we got down to 15 it meant Uthoff would stick around. Does this mean we are probably looking for more depth at small forward while GR3 is out?

may mean nothing other than uthoff to ants is he clears waivers. we've gone with 14 before. maybe they got it done ahead of fan jam.

agree a 3 would be nice but only if experienced enough to contribute.

Having an open roster spot could allow the Pacers to take a player from a team that's over the tax and get paid off to do it.
