Ticket purchased.

Making the trek down to Chicago tonight to make Game 3.
I have a fantastic seat as well and I will take a photo of exactly where I'm sitting and post it here.

Catching the train to the game and most likely ubering or catching a taxi back home.

Seager doesn’t even travel with us to Chicago.

Man I want him to contribute to any success we have.

Big spot for Puig but he has earned it.

Dont like Ethier 5th or stacked with Utley but we’ll adjust when they bring in a lefty.

Utley looked foolish in his pinch hit appearance. I’m nlt sure him being a lefty makes him a better matchup against righties than Forsythe.

Pre-Game Thoughts

Post#873 » by Ranma » Tue Oct 17, 2017 9:53 pm

Our starting lineup scares me. There are too many question marks throughout the order. It'd be even worse with Grandal in it, which is funny since I've contemplating getting him back into the lineup soon. Barnes's production has been lacking throughout the NLCS so far, but he hasn't actually had bad at-bats, for the most part. I'm glad he's still in there, especially since he handled Darvish so well in their last outing together. If Austin continues to struggle at the plate, I would give Yasmani a shot the next time Kershaw takes the mound. I'm not sure if Grandal has a good rapport with Wood, but I suspect Barnes does.

Having said that, the weather elements concern me. The wind is currently blowing out of the stadium in Chicago, which could change by game time but that might spark the Cubs' historically anemic offense to wake up. Hendricks is a better version of Hill, so our bats will likely be off-balance for most of the night and I've previously expressed my concerns with Darvish performing in the confines of Wrigley Field. Likewise, our bullpen's effectiveness might be affected adversely as well.

The Dodgers need to capitalize on scoring situations more efficiently and hopefully score some runs early. As glorious as our performance has been in key moments of the previous 2 games, we've been a little lucky that our opponents failed to deliver during pivotal moments.

I heard on ESPN Baseball Tonight's podcast that the Cubs are 0 - 5 in 7-game playoff series where they trailed 0 - 2, however, the Dodgers are 2 - 3 with 2 - 0 series leads in the postseason. We need to extinguish any hope the Cubs have left and a win tonight for a 3 - 0 NLCS advantage would be a major blow to Chicago.

Baez is not starting tonight for the Cubs, so there may be an opportunity to steal some bases in this game, but Contreras is still a hard-throwing and accurate sentinel behind the plate for them.

My seat. Same angle as the BP shot but further up.
There are Wrigley poles in front of me but to my left and right. I’m not obstructed of anything.

Saw Charlie Culberson launch one in BP.

He’s not starting.
Hope CT3 is comfy getting SS reps.

While I don’t expect much from Joc, I think he is more than capable of clutching up and launching one like we hope Granderson can.

Came back from getting some eats to see Turner walk and Puig just miss a home run down the LF line.
