Felt the same way about his shooting form when I first saw it..Looks like he's releasing the ball with 2 hands on the ball for too long...That's the one area he's going to have to work hard on if he wants to really be big...and I agree, RHJ mid-range form doesn't look as bad as his 3pt shot

huh? i think LeVert has one of the more smooth shooting forms in the Nets...
he and Allen Crabbe are really smooth

I prefer DLo quick static and smooth release....LeVert release is nothing like Crabbe tho.

Like this season's ceiling?

That is probably this season's realistic ceiling.

Career highs, or career-wise?
Maybe 23/7/5.

More likely case ceiling?
Say 17/6/4 with really good D.

His shot from 3 point land is flat. not much arch. he should be working with a shooting coach all season long.

everything else about his game is fine, i do get worried with some of the insane hits he takes going to the rim.

Last season, I had him at Batum, who averaged 15/6/6

He looks much better this season, scary. 20/6/6?

Caris should start at PG but guard the opposing SF. With Lin out Caris is easily the teams best creator and passer. He mightve even been the best passer on the team when Lin was healthy.

He took 15 shots last night. Looks like that'll be the norm now.

^^^i disagree. Russell looked fantastic last night as the team's facilitator. that being said.

Time for Caris to step up now. he needs to be better than what i saw last night. and i know he can be.

I agree that LeVert has to start now and play a slightly bigger role.

Dlo-LeVert-Carrol-RHJ-Mozgov should be the starting lineup going forward.

I agree, start LeVert, not Crabbe.

It was always just going to be a matter of time, but great to see Caris having a good game.

That added strength is beginning to pay dividends for him. Finishing through contact. Aggressive, strong drives to the rim.

He's going to be a load for opponents to handle once he gets his jumper back

There are three (active) slashers on the team. I like CLV in the starting lineup because it continues the idea of the two back court guys, handling the ball and making plays. CLV is developing his playmaking, a lot of it is a dribble-penetration and dish sense.

If Crabbe starts, then your three slashers, CLV, Dinwiddie and SKil (who is now not in the rotation) are on the bench and if teams try to defend more against the 3, the DLo post up and the slashing guard then can can make baskets in the paint or close to the basket. In a "limit 3s" defense, Crabbe is less effective.

I like the slasher in the starting lineup, gives the lineup more weapons.

That first step is even more nastier than last year, and it was already pretty good then.

Also good to see that strength and conditioning work starting to pay off, some of those drives and finish to the basket were beautiful.

What is happening with his jumper tho? I know its been talked about a lot here, but his shot was quite wet at the end of last season, but this season he has been bricking a lot of shots. And not just rimming out or something, but flat out bricking them or almost missing the rim?
He has been able to make it up in other ways under the basket, but he really needs to regain his confidence from range.

It's gotten to the point where I don't even worry about this kid. Missed shots, turnovers, whatever. I'm just watching him play and feel pretty confident in what he can become. The way he carries himself on the court and his demeanor is also lovely.

An offseason spent stricly on his 3pt shot and finishing around the basket will be the difference for him imo. Future is bright. Levert Baby!!!!

it's mental. he hit two threes last night though, so that's encouraging.

Levert's aggressiveness is key. He's just a 2nd year, he'll make lots of mistakes. But he can't let his confidence or aggressiveness get down. His % will go up.
