Zachary McAllister Tonight: 5IP 5H 0R 2BB 6K (4:5 GO:AO ratio) so seems as though he didn't have his best stuff but still 5 shutout innings. ERA down to 2.97.

What do I think of Alan Horne, well I'm very optimistic when it comes to prospects turning out good and I have very high hopes for him. Just 2 years fully removed from Tommy John, he now feels hes 100% healthy (His father posts at nyyfans.com) and he has some tremendous stuff. The 2 times I saw him pitch, he was 92-94 with a very very good curveball (below hughes, but very good) and he had a workable changeup. As i stated before about Joba, his fastball just explodes to the plate, think Beckett with the late life he has. His command is just ok but he gets ALOT of groundballs and I think with a decent defense behind him (Aaron Baldiris plays 3b, just look at his stats) he will be very very successful. People seem to forget this guy was drafted in the 1st round out of HS and would of been a top pick if not for him needing TJ surgery. I expect him to be up sometime next year as his stats are now showing what kind of pitcher he really is.

I love McAllister as a prospect, I just hope he can keep this up over a long period of time and then people will recognize him as a potential big prospect. He's got a ton of potential, and those GO and K rates will grab the attention of any scout.

Kennedy - 6 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 6 K

He sure was impressive today... reminds me of a younger Mike Mussina without some of the polish and fastball velocity.

I really hope Cashman holds onto Kennedy, he has just gotten better and better each time out. Anybody with 4 quality pitchers has a ton of potential, even more so because of how he commands his pitches.

I love his fastball command... I wish they had a radar gun on the TV broadcast though.

His curve = terrific, but he doesn't throw it for strikes that much.

His slider is just a show me pitch, nothing special.

His changeup is plus, and he'll get a lot of strikeouts on that pitch in the majors.

I hope he sticks in the minors for the rest of the year to work on his curveball and then gets a rotation spot next year.

To add to this, I was more impressed with Kennedy's first start in AAA then I was with Joba's first start in AAA. Kennedy is impressive, and I'm glad Nardi and company got him back to his sophomore USC days, where he was just plain dominant.

Nice to see Whelan back on track and back in the bullpen where he belongs: 2 perfect innings with 4Ks to finish off the Trenton W.

Nice to see you coming around on Kennedy so quickly. :lol:

He'll never be an ace, but if he became a pretty good #2 in the majors it wouldn't be a surprise at all.

I know Kay said that he received a couple of text msgs saying Joba was moved to the pen in Scranton but can anyone confirm or dispute this?

Ross Ohlendorf pitched out of Scranton's bullpen and added 5mph on his fastball! he was throwing in the mid-to high 90s!

Ross Ohlendorf will stay in the bullpen for the time being. I haven't been told it's a permanent switch, but I know Newman was very impressed by what he saw from Ohlendorf on Thursday. Here's what Newman said on Friday:
