Is it wrong I hope the Bulls cut Bobby Portis and we sign him?

could be right. who knows. still, breaking bones in your teammates face is pretty bad
typically this sort of thing... either over a girl or a gambling debt. mirotic doesnt strike me as a ladies man.
Mirotic was never going to last on the Bulls. I recall reading reports from the Bulls board about him missing the team bus and not showing Holberg a great deal of respect.
I don’t recall ever reading anything bad about Portis. That Bulls team from last season was very reminiscent of the KG, Pierce Nets. Wade hanging out with Butler more than mentoring the young guys. A lot of turmoil spilled out. No coincidence the longest tenured Bulls are now fighting.

Gasol / Conley is all they have left and they still haven’t properly put any talent around them. They might have something with Dillon Brooks but somehow Chandler Parsons has surpassed Gerald Wallace for worst contract since 2010. Dude hasn’t even averaged double figures in PER since joining Memphis. 33% FG, 28% 3pt and he’s still owed $25m over 3 Years.
I feel bad for Grizzlies fans.

Thabeet might be the worst number 2 pick in NBA draft history
And 2 of the best players in NBA history got drafted after him harden at 3 and curry at 7

He drafted Kevin Love and traded him for OJ Mayo.

Jaylen Brown is going to be an absolute beast. that is going to be the draft pick that really stings in 3 or 4 years.

if they cut portis, its because he is a loose cannon who was in the wrong, and not a guy id want here. if it was justified, they wont cut him.

I think both Brown and Tatum are going to sting us in 3 or 4 years.
On the court, in games. LeVert and RHJ better level up fast

The Cavs should win 60 games easily this season. Kyrie forcing his way out was addition by subtraction.

i wouldnt go that far. kyrie is a big shot maker and he can carry your offense for stretches both in games and for whole games when he is hot.

Well news is coming out that Mirotic charged Portis twice before getting hit, so maybe.

Agreed.
This is why last year I kept on about a Brown for Lopez trade being great for us and to forget about getting draft picks back. You definitely were with me.

Yeah but if Thomas actually comes back this season and is healthy, he fits so we'll.
Kyrie is more talented and I'd give him a slight nod, but Thomas is no slouch either and doesn't come with all the baggage.

Re: Around the NBA, 2017-18 Season thread
There was a young guy playing rugby league in Australia who had a very similar injury. He was the best in the country at his position (he was a winger: fast, agile and able to leap for the ball), he needed needed a year to come back (he played in the reserve grade comp), but never played first grade again. He retired a year later at 24.
Haywood's injury is worse than PG's, the break being at the ankle joint makes his recovery so much more difficult.

Swaggy P shooting lights out. 20 points 5/6 3 pointers... and the first half isn't even over yet.

Prayers up for Hayward.
No words for how sad this is.

Not really. Paul has been very uninvolved. Pat Beverly type of role. If this keeps up for a few weeks, it's not gonna end well.
It's only 1 game vs the best team ever so I wouldn't put too much stock into it.

When Steph Curry got MVP and people complained that it wasn't fair because he had better players around him than other MVP candidates... I always thought that was crazy because the reason Klay became Klay and Dtaymond became Dray was in part because of Curry. And Curry was again a big part f reason KD s fit with Dubs was so smooth.
You WANT a player who can play well with other players..and make them better as a team. This year we will see just how good Harden and Westbrook can be at doing that. I like them both a lot as players but always wondered if they had the temperament to actually be the heart of a championship team. It is not easy to do what Curry does - putting his ego in check and playing selflessly. End of rant
