No worries, Neddy. It's good to vent sometimes.

I even had people directly ask me if I was a Christian, and being an atheist even tho I grew up a protestant(product of growing up in southern cal and being a science major in college), told them I did grow up in a church, wasn't good enough.

Geez, man. It never fails that people find ways to disappoint. I'm sorry to hear that you have to deal with such intolerance.

that wasn't the worst. the day after DT got elected, I had a redneck in a jacked up truck with a 6 foot confederate flag wanting to fight me on the road. same day my local high school had some low IQ kids telling latino students who are mostly born in USA, chanting and yelling to "go back to Mexico" and other derogatory names called, and those 50 kids when asked to leave the school ground, went to my daughter's middle school's parking lot doing the same, and a local KKK group even circulated pamphlets about making America white again, with pictures of colored people hanging on a tree. but I do live in a rural part of Oregon. most people are still decent.

Good grief. What a disgrace to this nation's principles and ideals.

sometimes I do wonder what drove me to move to rural parts of Oregon, then I see my kids and I feel it is all worth it. they are growing up without knowing what I went through growing up in LA in North Hollywood and working in Compton area, with all the violence, drugs, hookers, and other peer pressure. but now my daughter is going through some **** as she might be gay and hates to wear anything looking feminine. at least I feel good that 3 girls already asked her to the school dance thinking she was a boy. all declined once they learned she was a she and not he, but makes her and me feel good to know she is attractive, lol.

and if my medical condition turns out to be the worst possible scenario, I need these boys to win it all!!!!

BTW guys don't feel bad for me if I do not make it. I can't lose. my life insurance is enormous where as a living professional I could never make that money. my family will be taken care of in case of my... permanent retirement.

Maybe a little bit, but he's had success in the past and didn't seem to go 2015 Puig... I hope he settles down, at least for next game.

Thanks for trying to make us feel better, Neddy, but we'd miss you too much. Looking at the bright side of things definitely shows the strength of character you have.

surely, I don't think the magic has worn off. CT3 hit that HR to give us the lead, and I don't think that will suddenly stop anytime this year.

Execution by Execution

Post#975 » by Ranma » Wed Oct 18, 2017 4:07 am

I love how the Dodgers have responded in this game. Darvish gives up a home run to the 2nd batter he faced, but he bounced back to put in a strong performance. Not only that, Ethier responded in the next inning to tie up the game before Taylor gave us the lead shortly thereafter.

I was really concerned that we'd let the Cubs gain confidence in their slumbering offense, but the Dodgers continued to execute their game plan to put us on the verge of a 3 - 0 NLCS lead. Even some fans of the diehard Chicago fan base have left Wrigley Field early.

to quote senator John McCain,

To fear the world we have organized and led for three-quarters of a century, to abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe, to refuse the obligations of international leadership and our duty to remain 'the last best hope of earth' for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems is as unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history.

this is the America I believe in, and America I want my children to inherit.
