YOUR Washington Bullets ARE STARTING A NEW SEASON!

We begin with a prime time matchup on national TV against the upstart 76ers. They are looking to make a run to the postseason.

The Wiz will be without Keef Morris. How will Brooks adjust his lineup? (Hint: he'll overplay Jason Smith who'll get killed by Covington)

Let's get it rollin'...

Don't know what is so exciting about this game, they're playing the 76ers nothing special. Wake me up when the go out west next week.

I am curious about our bench performance especially Kelly development.

I look forward to seeing the bench. I've been watching highlights of last season and its insane how many times the starters came out like a house on fire only for the bench to completely fall apart, sometimes multiple times in a single game. The bench looks improved on paper, but now they have to show us in games that count.

same here lol, and they could completely blow a double digit lead in like 2 minutes. It was almost impressive how consistent they were.

Brooks talked a lot about playing defense and the need to cover the perimeter more effectively, but I didn't really see a lot of that in preseason.

The Wizards can't allow the Sixers to get open looks and to get into a rhythm from the perimeter or it'll be a disappointing opener.

Philadelphia has weak defenders at the guard positions (Bayless, Redick, McConnell) who must rely on help from the frontcourt. Young teams, particularly young bigs, are usually bad at team defense. I'm betting that the Philly frontcourt help is going to be inconsistent since their frontcourt features Simmons (in his NBA debut), Okafor (a notoriously bad defender), and Saric (DRtg of 109 last year). They'll be competitive when Embiid is in the game, but if he is only playing 15-20 minutes, the Wizards should win this.

Gotta watch out for the typical lack of discipline from the Wizards team, though. They play down to our competition far too much. This team has a real opportunity this season. They need to get serious and play defense on every possession.

FYI, as of this morning, SportsCenter is advertising the Sixers/Wizards game as being shown "in the PHI and WAS markets" -- an odd caveat, considering that they'd been advertising this as a national game (there's no such caveat for the Wolves/Spurs game).

Here in New York, my FiOS guide still has the game airing in my area. But those of us outside of the DMV may want to keep their streaming device of choice on standby in case we have to watch the game on ESPN3.

I've had the flu the last four days and was suffering under the delusion that we were still in preseason. I'm going to have to struggle to get my game face on. Thanks for coming through with a game thread FAH1223! Wizards by 1 on something improbable in game that is both exciting and a wake up call. Go Wiz!

In the past, ESPN would show the Wizards game and those in DC would get Sportscenter or whatever they're showing on ESPNews. I think that's changed the last couple of years for whatever reason.

I think some of y'all are sleeping on the Sixers. They got Fultz and Saric coming off the bench. Simmons is a triple double threat. The only reason why I don't see this as a Sixers W is that Embiid is on a minutes restriction but this game will be a lot closer than people think.

Yes they are. Don't sleep on this team. I watched them during the preseason and they have serious talent.

looking forward to watching the games again. I don't have high expectations due to the lack of a bench but we do have 3 strong players in their prime which should make the games interesting.
