Defensive Standouts

Post#1103 » by Ranma » Thu Oct 19, 2017 2:15 am

Puig has been playing Gold Glove defense all season, but Bellinger has been spectacular at 1B with his web gems in key moments, which now seem routine. Now Taylor has been smooth at his natural position of SS.

Wood just missed getting a base hit on that swinging bunt.

Wood is out.

Why are we challenging?

It was a close play and afforded Wood some more rest after running down the baseline. It might come back to bite us in the butt, but I'm fine with the call for review.

73 pitch count to end the 4th. Turner/Puig/Ethier either got to go yard or take about 8 pitches each. we have got to knock JA out to get their bullpen up to win this game.
ehhhhh f it.

but despite the velocity, I am impressed with Yaz's game calling and Alex hitting the location right. with limited pitch types and losing velocity, he is pitching well after that two bombs inning.

That low fastball to Addison.

Great call.
Great pitch.
Great frame.

Baez Gets His 2nd Solo HR

Post#1116 » by Ranma » Thu Oct 19, 2017 2:29 am

Wood actually made a good pitch low in the zone, but Baez went down to golf it out. His low velocity didn't help fool the batter there.

Yeah.

Seeing Baez golf that makes me less worried.

Pisses me off and really makes me want to clinch tonight.

Alex needs to work on recapturing his mechanics and improving his stamina in the off-season.
