Crazy to think last season Booker made NBA history for a positive thing and in less than a year, we've made history again but for a bad thing.

I'm less fussed by everyone else but I am concerned that Booker and Jackson are being accustomed to take bad shots and turn into Monta Ellis and Josh Smith. Nobody seems to be put into positions where they can score effeciently.

Which verse of the Earl bible is that from?

Yeah, I was trying to figured out what the 1-12 meant.

I'm guessing our players from 1 to 12?

Portland only had 1 above average player, take Lillard out and we should win this game by 20.

Well I thought the bulls tank was strong but the suns are lead by a Patton level General and can't be stopped.

Can't believe I paid to watch that game lol...

Terrible all around. It felt like we went 1 on 5 almost every possession on offense. Watson talks about shooting 30+ 3s a game, but good shots from 3 don't happen without driving and kicking or running plays for specifically them, which we barely get in our offense. This starting lineup move is a mistake, it leaves our bench with no go-to scoring option and minimizes the impact of TJ/JJ by paring them with a 3/4 that isn't a consistent outside threat. Chriss may not be better than TJ/JJ, but he makes much more sense in our starting lineup than them together. TJ is a 3 that can spend time at the 4, not a starting 4. Hopefully we figure things out sooner than later, I expected a loss but this was unexpected.

I hope we bounce back, it's just almost amazing to me that we looked this bad immediately after training camp and preseason. I thought Watson might be the right guy to develop this team, but I'm going to need some convincing after seeing that kind of **** show live and in person tonight. It's not like things improved after half time either.

Interesting stat last season: 8 times after a loss we had a 20 to 38 point improvement to win the following game.

Albeit against the Lakers we'd need that to be 49 points minimum.

I have a hard time imagining Earl Watson will last the season as the HC.

This is embarrassing.

It's pathetic that McDonough can't see that Watson is not the right head coach just because he's so good at preaching. He knows absolutely zero Xs and Os of basketball coaching wise.

There has never been a successful NBA coach who lived off just the rah rah talk and had no actual game plan and strategies.

Even the teams that tank and are s***ty like the 76ers at least have a coach who is implementing a system in place....the Suns do some stupid s***t with a million isos and running behind the 3pt line without purpose.

as Bad as Amare was defensively he was Dennis Rodman compared to Chris. Bledsoe and Chandler act like they are pissed they haven't been traded yet or are expecting it. The concerns i have are Booker thinks he's better than he is, he is atrocious defensively too and has a bit of that prima donna air about him, he hasn't earned that yet. Warren mailed it in on both ends too. Trying not to over react to one game but the veteran mentoring we were supposed to get from Chandler and Dudley hasn't translated to defensive or rebounding effort

+1

Even if the system isn't successful as least they gain good lessons in working within a system. I love the way their top talent has bought into the system. They aren't always successful but like someone else has mentioned before, it's that system which has allowed a player like McConnel who was overlooked by many teams to be very productive even off the bench. We have ZERO system and that forces players to do things which aren't consistently helpful and that's where bad habits are picked up. You got Booker going Kobe when he should be playing more like Klay or Rip Hamilton (right now). You got no plays run for arguably your most efficient scorer (TJ). You got one of the most athletic player running and jumping out there with no direction, plays and picking up stupid fouls (Chriss). You got your most complete player holding the ball, running no plays and jacking up out of rhythm 3's (Bledsoe).

The saddest thing is, we've seen essentially the same thing in Game 1 of last season.

thats the funny thing with basketball.... its a team game.

You still need 5 players working to help each other out and not play 1 on 5. Bledsoe, Booker were ISOing one on one, didnt see a shot they didnt like

Is it possible that his 2 assistant coaches are actually hoping for Watson to fail and aren't giving 100% to their respective jobs so they could be made interim coaches and potentially the HC? I thought about this from the beginning since they lost their jobs as HC and are now working under a guy who they once taught. As devious as it sounds, that's the way things works in the business

If Suns get Pick 1, I'm torn.... Bagley, Ayton or Porter...

Suns have a glut of forwards who can play both forward spots.... Ayton looks like the go... but Bagley is/will so much better than Bender, Chriss at the PF spot.... I would love to trade for another top 5 pick.... trade future picks to get that second top 5

Return to Phoenix Suns
