You guys are going to hate me.

I do not see Booker as a #1 option. He is still 20 years old, and I understand he will improve. I just feel like he isn't at that Star level everyone makes him out to be. I am a fan and hope he turns into an All Star Guard from here on out!

I think a lot of people feel like there is no way he should or could be the best player on a good team. I mean obviously in time JJ should be our best player with all he brings and being one of the very top prospects of one of the best draft classes in some time. None of these guys will be all stars for the foreseeable future though, with the state of the west and all the stars.

But ultimately it's too early to judge what any of these guys on their rookie contracts will become. Booker has definitely surpassed expectations though based on drafting him late lottery and is still really young.

not sure on how you are using your ratings but the only two that i felt even remotely good about were jackson and Bender for at least trying to play defense.. Chriss was completely useless and his demeanor was even worse. Bledsoe seems he is pouting and just doing his own thing out there and was taking the Lilliard match-up personally and was disruptive to his own team. Chandler seemed uninterested and lazy. Booker started out fairly decently but once the lead mounted he just started hoisting shots and stopped playing defense. Ulis looked over matched like he doesn't belong in the league, Warren was never engaged and didn't play with any effort

the rest just seemed insignificant.. but all the positive commentary James is getting is misplaced as well in my opinion, all he did was look for his own shot against third stringers, they just happened to go in or a lot of them are terrible shots too, and all of them got bullied and pushed around on the boards but at least Bender and Jackson gave effort. Watson isn't an NBA level coach and was hired as filler cuz he's cheap but i am worried he is allowing bad habits to develop with young players that could be hard to break if this goes on much longer... its one game and we are all including me over reacting but there's a lot to be concerned about.. The Laker game could be interesting as they looked nearly as bad as we did...

Yeah, that's why I said it's tough for me to give a point to James, given that we were down 58 when Portland emptied their bench and he was playing against the very end of their bench. But, also he did hit his shot, so I gave him a point.

Jackson came out looking good and with fire, but it was a bit disappointing to me that he only got 2 boards and no assists, steals, blocks, nothing. I expect those things from him so can't reward him for much, but gave him a point. Booker wasn't great, but relatively speaking, he did more than anyone else across the stat sheet (outside of shooting) with those kinds of numbers I expect from Jackson, with boards, assists, steals and a block.

Bender looked good defensively.

Obviously tough to find positives.

Bender has looked better than Quese at all times since the end of last season.

I have confidence that Quese will find his game in time, but I think it'll be a few years. I initiated this comparison in July - Rodney Rogers. Below-average rebounder, very tough, well-rounded (but, sadly, *below the rim*) offensive game built around a reliable 3 point shot.

Prove me wrong if you can, Quese, but Rodney Rogers peaked at 6MOY. And if Quese can't learn to hustle and outsmart his opponents, that will be Quese's ceiling.

I'm confident Bender will be much better than that.
