They literally have no one. Nothing. There is nothing on that roster to build around. No top FA is coming there. Maybe they max Lopez lol.

LeBronzo hahahaha

Yeah you were really big on Lonzo, it is only his first game though. However I never thought his game would translate at the point guard position - at one stage late last season I had him outside the top 10 prospects and couldn't understand why people had him ranked first. To me he was like a college QB that wins the Heisman but has no chance at being a good QB in the NFL. He can still have a solid career in the NBA - the book is not yet written on his career. I just think there are other guys in this draft crop who will have much better careers than him.

To be fair... this isn't an isolated incident and just the first game. His shooting in Summer League and Pre-season has been downright disgusting especially from 3. I think I at one point worked out he was shooting 19% from beyond the arc and taking them at a rate that would make Swaggy P blush. I don't know how anyone thought that shot would ever translate to the NBA from a further distance and against real defenders.

Edit all your ball posts while you can. Last chance ends today.

Actually lots of us are watching this game because of you.

Hey at least he didn't call Ingram untouchable in any Paul trade.

You might call it homers or hot takes or whatever, but I am now sure that we are the best young team with the most potential in the whole league. It is not even close. Let's shock the league, Sixers.

Its just one game. Dudes popped bottles after his first SL game too. Beverly is a rough ass matchup for a rookie PG as dude seems to love the chance to mind **** them. Remember how he ate MCW's soul in Summer League? Dude is a dawg.

also as stated the Lakers aren't currently built for Lonzo's strengths either... Kuzma should start and KCP will help as well...by giving Lonzo actual shooters even if in name only. Running screens for Bropez is some **** that isn't going to work.

I don't even like the kid's game and his failure would give me ammo against smug posters...but yeah, If I am going to ask for patience for Fultz, gotta do same for all rookies...especially PGs...**** is hard guys.

I think that's a fair comment. Can't write off a player after one game. There's a lot of reasons I'd like Lonzo to be a good player (when he gets it right his transition play is a joy to watch, he's seems like a good guy etc) and only one reason why I wouldn't, and that's as a group the Lakers fanbase are unbelievably deluded. Unfortunately though because of that there are huge expectations on him, expectations I really don't think he's capable of living up to - but even so you can't close the book after one page. Its a long season and I'm sure he'll have good games along the way.

Also, Beverly, what a tough guy calling out a rook

Kuzma and KCP wont solve his problems. What he need is to play for the Warriors with superstars and super elite shooters

So he needs to be a role player on an elite team? Not to bump my chest, because I've been plenty wrong on other things, but I've been saying this since Dec of last year. He's never been a top 5 pick in my eyes.

Very macho stuff from Beverly. Talking and trashing like that against a 19-year old who plays his first game.

Well normally KCP will be out there. But they could have started Clarkson or Ennis or something. Even Randle would have been helpful. You can't ask a 19 year old kid in his first NBA game to go against Beverly with no other ball handlers to help him out.

That's what Beverly does to everyone. Plays with a huge chip on his shoulder, talks junk and busts his ass all game. It's how he made the league out of the random minor leagues he started in. There just generally isn't so much of a microscope on the guy he's checking. Welcome to the NBA lonzo.

His father has been talking trash all year. He actually subtly dissed Beverly by talking how his boy is going to dominate in his first NBA game.

Beverly responded and said it won't happen as long as he is guarding him. He has a right to be fired up this is dude path to the NBA was much different then ball he probably looks down on him because his game is mostly hype he was kind of the Tim Tebow of last years draft in a lot of ways. Oh and Beverly can play for my team anyday but you could tell this night was special he usually plays within himself on offense but he went at Lorenzo like he was Lebron lol.

The Lakers shouldn't have traded Russell. He is a better player in the half court than Ball. He also would benefit from Ball's constant deferring to other players in the half court offense. Instead they have Clarkson's crazy ass out there now.

The 2nd half they took the ball out of his hands. The thing is A) That's not going to help against Beverly B) He's not used to playing off the ball.

There is an art to playing off the ball. He's had the ball in his hands his entire life even Milos you could tell the offense flowed much better with him having the ball in his hands but they wanted to run the offense through Griffin even if the ball didn't move as much.

That's sort of the thing really ball can sling the ball around the perimeter and get his teammates half open looks but in order to get his teammate wide open looks he needs to be a threat to score off the drive and be able to draw defenders. He will never be that because of his funky shot and his inability to go to the right. So teams are going to play up on him. Whether that be Beverly or anyone else.

Which is why I wasn't high on him because you look at his shot and say well he could play off the ball but then you negate his passing and court vision. You put the ball in his hands and then you have to question his ability to get his shot off and whether defenders will react to what he does on offense. It reminds me of the early days of 2k where you could create completely broken characters without any consideration of how it all meshed together.
