It's not that he missed 4 free throws, it's the fashion he missed them. It looked mental to me albeit conjecture. Maybe I'm being a little knee-jerk in saying that he shouldn't be considered, but it was painful watching and it let them hang around.

I agree with you that, in general, Beal seems relatively unclutch from the FT line. He has a career FT% south of 80% which just isn't good enough for a top tier NBA shooting guard. Last year, he was okay, shooting 82.5%, but most "pure shooters" can be counted on to shoot in the 86-90% range.

I'm going to say it was first game jitters, etc. He seemed out of game shape to me. Couple of his shots were off the front of the rim.

Not much to psychoanalyze here.... Without Gortat and Oubre both, we aren't even in the game. So how can anyone but those two get consideration for POTG I wonder....
