You are talking about Embiid?

He is arguably the most dominant defender in the league already. I don't think that he needs to do anything differently other than try not to foul as much.

Nothing too egregious, but something about this strikes me as mean-spirited. I don't want Embiid to turn into a jerk.

I actually agree with you. Embiid seems to have turned into a guy who is obsessed with attention. He has a great sense of humor and is witty/funny but this kind of stuff is pathetic.

Off topic, but it's kinda funny that Embiid, Okafor, and Simmons have no tattoos, from what I can see. I think McConnell and Stauskas are without them too. The rest of the league seems to have full sleeves of tattoos. Just a very random observation. Our team has a lower than usual tattoo per player.

EDIT: Justin Anderson and Saric too. Weird.

EDIT2: Damn Richaun Holmes and TLC too.

Tattoos aren't really that "cool" anymore.

Or JJ. I don't remember when he accumulated all those on his left arm.

Actually after Fultz did that tattoo, he was never the same

That F2G thing is actually lame IMO

I wish Embiid lost 15-20 pounds. He doesn't need all that weight. It slows him down and somewhat negates his innate athleticism. He's looked a bit sluggish/lumbering going up and down the court. It also increases the risk of injury considerably. I think 260-265 pounds would be the optimal weight.

He is 7'2. Cousins is a similar weight and is 3 inches shorter.

He is already faster than any of the guys that are in his ball park strength wise, and stronger than any of the other guys in his ball park speed wise.

I think he has a perfect build for him right now. Point taken on the injury risk I suppose.

I don't know how the word "lumbering" ever gets used in association with Embiid. Maybe he doesn't have his wind up to peak form yet, but he is an elite athlete that doesn't lumber.

I noticed this too. I think Holmes is actually in the middle of getting a sleeve right now, and TJ has a tat on his back from what I remember watching past games.

Check this video at 6:17 mark:

I don't know man. Last year Embiid looked much more graceful than this.

It looks like he stutter stepped for a second, but he looks pretty good to me. Look, if he is 10 pounds heavier this year that is going to slow him down a bit, and he is over 50 pounds heavier than he was in college. He is still the fastest player in the league at his size, and that is fine.

Embiid is like that girlfriend that gives you mind blowing sex, but after you marry her she stops putting out. She just takes all your money and gets fat.

Embiid's always been a questionable professional. There were rumblings of him being defiant and not taking any of his rehabilitation serious.

He was a risky type of person to sink a max contract into, aside from the injury stuff.

We're at the mercy of him maturing, checking his ego, and getting back to being a great player.

I'm unhappy with his attitude this last month or so. Him complaining about the minute restrictions with profanities really rubbed me the wrong way...compounded by the fact that he's been playing below average the first 2 days and is clearly not ready for a full load.

I'm not going to assume it's a trend yet, but hopefully it's a temporary lapse in maturity.

Embiid just said:

"I don't think I got the ball enough in the post. We need to do a better job of getting the ball to me in the post."

I don't get this. I didn't see him on the block calling for the ball much. He spent the majority of the game at the three point line.
