I know. I always felt Beverley was underrated and thought people might underestimate the Clips this year since the offense can run through Blake and they have two capable passers on the perimeter....besides Beverley being a great defender and capable passer, he is a good 3 pt shooter.

I really do not know why Mike traded him. I thought he was perfect in Houston. I also liked Dekker and Harrell. The Clips also picked up Gallo in Free agency. They could turn out to be the biggest winners this past off season.

I can actually root for the Clips now that Chris Paul is gone. Unfortunately he is in Houston and am a huge MDA fan.

I know. I didn't think Harden and Paul were the best fit for D'Antoni offense, though you can't really turn down a trade for Paul. But Beverley was the perfect PG next to Harden..great defender, 3 pt shooter and capable distributor. I thought it was dumb to try and trade for Melo too, giving them one more guy who would want to handle the ball. Anderson may be overpaid, but if there is one team he makes sense for, it is one D'Antoni is coaching. And Dekker too.

I thought PJ was a bit of an odd signing but watching them with him and Ariza and Mbah A Moute on opening night defend the Warriors on the perimeter was fun to watch, especially when he hit his 3s. At least Paul is on a team now that can not really take a dip when his is injured, and if he is healthy he is the best pg defender in the league (outside of maybe Beverley) and can hound Curry and be the orchestrator when Harden sits.

But Paul has always mostly played a slow, calculated game, which is not D'Antoni. If he adapts to D'Antoni's offense, he could run it very well. Even if he doesn't, he will still run it well. I always felt when the Lakers tried to trade for Paul way back when that him and Kobe were a terrible pairing just like I felt Kobe and Nash were, but at least Harden and Paul are both pretty good 3 pt shooters.

We need a real system so these legitimate offensive talents in Booker and TJ can develop the right type of game. Our defense is also so bad right now we let Brandon Ingram look like KD. The same Brandon Ingram who hasn't shown anything remotely close to having a good offensive game.

This can't continue. You can't expect a team to keep giving up 130+ to teams that aren't close to contending and expect a proper tank, where the players develop and a sense of team identity and chemistry. The only thing the team will develop into is a team with a culture of losing and giving up 130+ while playing isolation basketball.

Len sucks.
Tyson can't defend stretch bigs.
Our defense is horrible.
Chriss better commit to improving his attitude and play.

Booker and Jackson will be studs.

Jury is still out on Ball. He torched us, but we don't play defense at all.

Gonna be a long season for us.

I want Okafor. We need interior scoring. We will get spacing off that. We won't get spacing on those stupid high handoffs.

That may be the strangest moment I've ever seen in a head coach post game presser.

Why is he making jokes about how bad his defensive coaching is?

Josh needs to play more than 23 mins a game...AND he isn't a stand in the corner 3pt shooter!

if nothing else its going to be interesting this year... I really think Bledsoe is just depressed about being here, probably thought he was going to Cleveland to join Lebron, I bet once he is traded we see a different Bledsoe again, I think Chandler has just fallen off the cliff a, he isn't that quick anymore and doesnt get a lot of elevation, those were what made him what he was and without them he just doesn't have it.. but yeah all the great offense on both teams were inflated by the other worldly bad defense by both teams.

as long as Watson is head coach, talent will waste away here. unfortunately.

yeah the Sixers are intriguing bc of their young talent + Brett Brown's system. That earlier game was tough to watch though

Jazz/Wolves was a grindfest as usual, Rubio played incredibly well. Jazz probably should have won it, but Rudy threw the ball to Jimmy Butler after a DREB up 1 with 26 seconds left

You'd think if Rubio threw it to the other team, it would be one of his ex teammates...guess not.

Since you watch the teams we've talked about assistant coaches from, and you've watched the Suns, if you had to choose another coach to coach the Suns, who would you pick? Ettore Messina has been mentioned, as well as Jay Larranaga, and a couple others.

forgot to respond to this, my bad

Yeah Messina would be ideal but I think he's committed to the Spurs. maybe Udoka from there could be an option

Want to give a shout to Igor Kokoskov, current Jazz assistant. Aside from those guys, not super familiar with most of the asst. coaches who could be ready for a head coaching gig

Interesting you mention Igor as he was a Suns asst coach for 5 years starting with the team with Nash and Amare and finishing in 2013. I think Quin Snyder is one of the best coaches in the league along with Pop, Carlisle, Spoelstra, and Stevens. I usually look at their assistants for potential candidates. I figured Messina might have gone to the Spurs because he was basically destined to eventually take over for Pop.

Considering you watch a number of teams in the league, I take it you feel he is the worst coach in the league? I know many Raps fans have hated Casey over the years...what's the comparison there?

Warren and Jackson cannot start together. They don't complement each other in any way, and this is going to hurt Josh's development.

Tyson needs to be benched too.

Personally, I'd start Len-Bender-Jackson-Booker-Bledsoe. Len and Bender are a solid defensive pairing. Bender's already showing some excellent defensive instincts. He will develop offensively only if he gets 25+ mins a game.

Have Tyson-Chriss-Warren-James/Daniels-Ulis come off the bench.

Also, Watson needs to stop trying to implement stupid ideas like 30 3-point attempts a game, and focus more on basics like ball movement. Bledsoe in particular needs to get this memo, or get traded asap.

Watching how bad the Clips made the Lakers look and how bad Pat Bev made Ball look and then he turns around and drops 29 on us, this team is an absolute catastrophe.

Bledsoe is a very good one on one player, but that is all that he is at this point.

He always has been overrated defensively, he was great on defense as a backup on the Clippers...after that he has been average at best.
