Stamina is a skill!

Fultz had like 16 in the second half of his second game in Utah, what are you talking about? Carried the Sixers back into the game.

And Tatum had 21 in the second half of his 4th game. Not going to pretend I watched Fultz's second game, but against us he clearly faded in the second half.

So you're not gonna pretend you watched the game, but you're gonna say he faded in the second half of the game. Got it.

I still think Fultz is a better player. A lot of what Jayson does right now is good, but if he is going to get his points in iso, the efficiency is going to have to be there. One of the surest ways to make sure an iso player is efficient is to keep drawing fouls. His free throw rate will determine a lot about his value as a player if he cannot consistently finish in the paint with pressure. He did that nicely last night, but will he be able to do it consistently against solid defenders. I second the tunnel vision thing brought up by others, as at times he seems to have predetermined that the entire possession is going to be his. Maybe all this changes when he gets minutes with the big club.

He DOES look bigger in summer league than I thought he was going to be, and I think he might end up playing the role of a big quite often. Also, his high release bodes nicely for any times we might need a stretch 4, although his shooting mechanics are a bit awkward and not always the same. His arm does this weird float to the side thing on his release. It may not end up hindering him, but it's something to watch for. Overall I think he can become a very good three point shooter, but we may not find out for another season or so.

The other thing to watch for is that when he is drawing fouls and driving, he is really a below the rim player. I don't think it's a good comp, but the way he moves athletically is more reminiscent of Kevin Love to me than anyone else. Love was a miles better passer out of the high post, but Jayson is a much better ball handler I think than Kevin was at a young age (pls correct me if I'm wrong on this, I'm just going from memory).

All this being said, IF Tatum develops well, his size makes him more valuable then a similar impact guard. Time will tell.

Bet with Stillwater Celtics will finish 6th or higher in ECF Standings Regular Season(17-18). [WON]

I think Fultz is a bust. Not the athleticism that is needed for the way he plays.

Oh the hot take.

Ya too early to tell, I agree.

But as a fan that won't stop me from providing my opinion. Neither Fultz or Ball will be "busts" but neither will ever reach legitimate All Star status. Decent rotation players at best (the buzz around Ball is hilarious). When you're the 1st or 2nd pick in the draft, that's a massive disappointment. You can throw Fox in that group as well, and Frank the Tank. "Best point guard class in history". How many times did we here that? I don't think there is an All Star PG in the lot, unless Smith can progress and stay healthy.

I said it leading into the draft and I'll say again now. Tatum and Jackson will be the best 2 players in this draft. It was obvious to me then and now. Instead of going 1, 2 ....... they went 3,4.

I always had Tatum ahead of Fultz (look it up). Still feel that way.

Ball was my #1. He is generational talent. Fultz will be fine. Tatum will likely turn out better.

Simmons and Embiid are hurting his game. Both of them have been the focus of all the marketing material. Both of them have been anointed future of the franchise. Both handle the ball more than necessary.

Do you know what generational talent is? The generational players in the game as of this moment are Lebron, KD, and Steph. Ball can't shoot for ****. His passing you could MAYBE make a case for being generational but even that's reaching. He averaged 7 APG in college. For reference, Kendall Marshall averaged nearly 10 APG at UNC.

The language filter exists for a reason. Please do not bypass it like you did again.

Thanks,

You clearly don't realize that APG is not a measure of point guard skills.

I'll wait till they both hit their primes before offering a response to OP's question.

I don't know about Ball. I was of a like mind as you, but last night makes me wonder if i was wrong. 29 points, 9 boards and 11 assists. 4-9 from 3. I hate to entertain the thought, but I may have been wrong about him.

You clearly don't realize that Lonzo isn't a generational passer.

11 rebounds is kinda skewed. I mean Westbrook as a 6-3 PG averaged 10+ last year which is most then most big men because his bigs box out and no opposing guards crash so he just stands there and waits for it lol

Still think we could've got more in the deal. We were working with Colangelo here. Protections on picks was the real kick in the pants.

I dont know about the generational talent part ( I did have Ball #2 in the draft for what its worth), but just a few things. Ball as a freshman led the NCAA in assists, he also broke UCLA's single season assist mark and broke the PAC-12 freshmen assist record. Kendall Marshall as a freshman averaged 6 assists a game and Marshall was one of the best passers college ball saw in a real long time. And for a guy that cant shoot, he shot 41% from 3 in college while taking over 5 3pt shots a game and ya I know its just 2 games into the season but he is shooting 41% from 3 while taking 6 attempts a game.

It's still early but I think Tatum showed me enough to believe that Ainge was serious when he said he would have picked him first.

I'm really curious to see what others think.

Well, we didn’t need a PG so the pick trade was a no branier until you don’t think we may get AD for the same package we used for Kyrie. Talking of players only amazingly great PGs flourish from the get go so it’s not a fair comparison right now. Anyway I value Tatum as a potential “crack” and I’m more the than happy with him.

Wouldn't shock me if Tatum, Ball, Jackson, Smith, Fox and Laurie M. all end up better than Fultz. And I don't think Fultz will be bad.

But I think the arguments will be about Tatum and Ball.
