Haters are gonna hate because he’s on the Lakers, but they’re just jealous they don’t have him on their team.

Wow, better than Jordan, David Robinson, Shaq, Duncan and Chris Paul at a younger age than all of them. Pretty impressive.

Pretty good, let's see how he does against NBA competition though.

Anytime any player, let alone a 19 year old puts up a statline like that, it's a good thing. A few of the shots he did showed that there is some potential there to operate in the PnR and midrange area.

However, can't take anything else from that game due to how ridiculous it was. The Lakers played at a 120 pace, which rivals teams such as the 62'Lakers. It literally was closer to Chino Hills than NBA basketball.

I'm not sure why, but this is giving me flashbacks to Michael Carter Williams first year in Philly. 22/7/12 with 9 steals in his first game. 4/6 from 3pt land...

While I agree about the pace, it's not like this era is starting to get to an absurd pace...

I mean the BKN played at an absurd pace last year, and last night's pace blew that number out of the water.

It's just hard to gauge what is actually of merit when accounting for context. At the very least though, he showed 'something' which is good. Beyond that though, we'll just have to wait to see him play an actual NBA team for anything more.

It’s a smart idea to watch Lavar post game first, then watch Lonzo’s.
Lavar makes me want to root against the kid so hard and then Lonzo says everything correctly in his post game. Not getting too up or too down, which is the mentality for this league. Seems like a smart kid. We may see more tough games, but rookie PG’s take a while.
Making the Lakers at least make sense to be on national tv as much this year.

I know it's a joke thread but he'll never be an MVP candidate. Maybe he can become and all star.

How are you saying this with such certainty? As of now, no one knows what his future entails...because it's obviously too early. He can be brilliant, mediocre, or bad, but none of us should pretend to know exactly how his career will pan out.

Looked awesome last night but he's still pathetic finishing around the rim with any kind of contact. He'll need to improve that pretty significantly to be an all-star.

Right, because we all know that Eric Bledsoe is not really NBA competition.

The pace was a feature, not a bug. That's a big part of the game plan--to push the ball up and shoot fast.

Do you actually watch your team play?

Yeah, I watched them completely blowout, embarrass, and eviscerate one of the best young up and coming teams last night.

They have an absolute loaded roster this year, Top 5 Center in Lopez, one of the best defending SF in Deng, a once in a generation talent like Lonzo Ball, another future superstar in Brandon Ingram, and a coach in Luke Walton who came from Golden State, where he had great success.

Lakers are legit this year.

Yes!!!! I'm glad you brought up Deng. These people are simply jealous that they don't have HIM on their roster too. He is MOS DEF a plus defender. He is the hoops equivalent of Eddie Van Halen's "Eruption". :guitar:

Nope, but only because he is a lock to win MIP

Most irritating parent.

And the NBA doesn't like 1 player winning 2 awards.

Lonzo Watch 10-22-17:

Lonzo just had breakfast and took a shower

Lonzo just made 4/5 fake free throws at his kitchen's garbage can

Lonzo got in his car and drove a steady 45 MPH in a 35, ever so gently tiptoeing the line between speeding and keep his car in line with those around his

Lonzo arrives at practice and talksto Magic Johnson. The two exchange pleasantries as Magic tampers with several free agents

Lonzo ponders whether or not he wants a chocolate protein shake or a vanilla one, because the chocolate one is his favorite but last time it gave him a slight stomach ache. He checked WebMD and thinks it might be a lactose issue, but he isn't trying to make any assumptions. He's most likely going to refer the issue to his physician and get his thoughts on the issue. His MD graduated from UCLA,too, so he trusts him. It isn't like he'd lead him astray. But anyways, in the meantime, Lonzo is gonna stick to water-based protein shakes. He'll keep the GB updated each time he takes one.
