I am ok with McD, but Watson has done nothing except a fairly good impersonation of Mr. Rogers as a basketball coach.

He has to go. Times up. If McD won’t fire him, then McD should go too. Don’t want to do that, but I would if he dug in his heals.

Ettore Messina. He has had had head coaching success and has coached under Pop.

I'm not really sure this guy knows basketball. And his favouritism of Chriss over Bender stinks to high heavens. Enough of this BS!

I am still very bothered that we didn't even bother interviewing any candidates before settling on Watson. The sooner we let him go, the faster we can start rebuilding. Teams that started rebuilding the same time as us has far surpassed us.

The Suns keep hiring rookie coaches so its no wonder our coaching always sucks, good coaches can be had from the untested ranks but the Suns seem to find more duds like Porter, Frank Johnson, and perhaps Watson.

Should have kept Alvin Gentry.

Yeah perhaps this time we will hire someone based on their résumé and not their interview.

Id like to say 10 on the hot-seat-o-meter but who **** knows? This is just laughably awful. Time to get a real **** coach with real history of winning and player development. I'm done until Watson is canned.

We have a soft opening 20 games to start, we'll win at least 5-6 and see how things feel from there.

Under Sarver and McDonough we typically don't make a direction judgement until around Christmas.

If we dont have some wins by Thanksgiving, Christmas is going to come early for Earl, and not in a good way.

The strange thing about Watson is he was like end of the line asst coach after coaching a G league team for a year (or maybe asst coach of that team?) and then when Hornacek got fired it was fairly common news that they fired two other assistants that ranked higher than Watson because they wanted to make Watson coach.

I thought the two coaches fired were Hornaceks guys? Or at least it's commonplace for asst coaches to be replaced with a new team when a new HC is hired

Yes, they were, but they fired those two guys first before firing Hornacek to clear the way for Watson when they did fire Hornacek. It was like they needed to clear the way for Watson...not sure the reason...they just really liked him, the players liked him, or whatever else, who knows?

I think there are a decent number of teams in Europe who could beat us with mid-difficulty right now. I think that's a fair thing to say at this point.

We are the laughing stock of the NBA right now. We should be losing by maybe 15-20 points but not a whopping 40+ points. This is just a result of bad coaching and not knowing your own players strenghts/weaknesses & not knowing how to adjust lineups/rotations in-game. I didn't get to watch the Clippers game, but how do we lose to the Blazers when they didn't even have McCollum by almost 50 points? We are such an embarrassment that the players have likely given up already and this will likely result in stunted growth development. Watson needs to go ASAP.

Exactly this. After the most disastrous season due to the HC/player relationship the immediate decision to hire an inexperienced HC on 3 year contract without even interviewing other candidates seemed like a crazy thing to do. I've hated the hiring since day 1 but have tried to make sense of it. I kind of softened my stance on it and even bought into it, but not anymore. I can't waste any more time watching this guy coach this team anymore.
