There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Once his shooting is back, defenders wont be able to sag back. Right now when he has the ball, there’s like 3-4 guys ready to go to the paint and block his shot. We’ve seen in with the Celts with Theis and Raps with Ibaka. There were like 3-4 guys jumping to block his shot because THEY ALL KNOW HE WONT SHOOT IT.
When he goes to the rim it's like I'm watching Evan Turner all over again.
You are terrifyingly correct on that last statement. I see Evan Turner all over again in these first three games. Something is definitely up with this kid.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion II
This is such a weird situation, I can't wrap my head around it. Watching the college highlights, his shot and release was near perfect. What the eff happened? I'm rooting for him, but something seriously weird is going on. If he was injured, the Sixers of all teams would never let him play. If he is not that injured, what the eff is that shot, and especially the free throw? Mind-boggling.

It’s one thing to expect it and another to have that mystery keeps running to your head on what the F happened
They said it was an injury, Brown even gave two extensive answers. However, they've lied so much about other stuff that even when they tell us, it still seems like they're lying.
My one problem with the whole thing is that they play off the injury like it's not that big of a deal. They are teetering on the line of: an injury that is holding him back so much they he'll need rest, and this being an injury that's essentially not a big deal. So what we're left with is confusion. As a fan, you're relieved that it's not a serious injury like a torn labrum, but then you see the various forms of Fultz's free throw dating back a month (Sept 22 scrimmage). I see minor improvements from that game, but what is this injury that's lasting a month?
If they're lying about the whole thing, then this will all be exposed by November. Reporters and the fans won't be content with Fultz going to the line every night and fling the ball at the rim. Local and national media will demand answers about the injury (severity, type, if there's one at all, etc).

This whole situation is so bizarre to me. The lack of clarity just makes it so much worse.

The media needs to dig into this and have them address the issue. A legitimate explanation on Fultz's situation is seriously warranted at this juncture. It blows my mind that this wasn't even brought up in BB's post game interview.

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion II
- fultz has an injured shoulder
- injured shoulder does not prevent him from dribbling the ball
- injured shoulder does not prevent him from laying the ball up
- injured shoulder only affects him during certain motions such as lifting his arm straight in the air over his head and shooting the ball with his original shooting form.
- obviously the sixers believe the injury cant get any worse with fultz playing so bb keeps sending him out there.
- why is this so hard to grasp?

Perhaps all true. Perhaps the injury can't get worse. However.....
1. Does playing allow the injury to get better?
2. Players are smart. No-one will guard him close. Driving lanes are vanishing. He can't help this team if he can't shoot.
SIT HIM. GET HIM RIGHT. I am not even a Sixers fan and this is driving me nuts. I feel sorry for this young man.

Because for such a debilitating shoulder issue he's yet to be diagnosed with a specific injury.

he wouldve been benched by the second game of the season if he passed up wide open shots like he did and if he intentionally kept that ft shooting form if his shoulder was fine
you think bb would sit there and watch him not shoot the ball and not blow a gasket if he didnt think fultz was playing with a bum shoulder? its common sense

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion II
I’d love to know a shoulder injury that doesn’t get get worse by playing, he falls extends his arm to brace his fall, and all the pressure goes to his shoulder, if it’s injured already it’s going to get worse, whether it’s a rotator cuff or labrum tear.
Hopefully it’s not a labrum issue because they’ll wait a little longer, and if he doesn’t improve, Fultz will be another red shirt rookie.

Below average athlete for a guard. Can't get separation from defenders. High FT rate. Takes and makes a lot of contested midrange shots against college players. Sounds about right.

At this point I just want them to bench him, so you guys can find someone else to trash. There's plenty of healthy sixers players to choose from. You would think Sixers fans would show empathy because he's our guy.. smh

Last comment. Not that I disagree in this case, but as a general rule, you'd all be wise here to ignore any advice from Lakers' fans. They're not the smartest bunch.
Lol. The rivalry continues!

I've seen a lot of trashing Bayless, TLC and Amir Johnson. They're our guys. Trashing those guys doesn't seem to bother anyone. If you look like garbage, you get trashed. See Evan Turner and Jahlil Okafor

Turner was not that fast, his handle was a little loose and he couldn't reliably splash the ball from distance. but i got to say, Brett got something out of him, those few games we weren't tanking to "pick your poison". and as loath as Celtics fans were to admit it, ET was used well enough by Stevens to anchor their bench. so well in fact that a few teams were bidding silly money to sign him, and he is once again a low regarded mediocrity. (though financially secure.)

Re: Markelle Fultz Discussion II
He should be sitting whether it is the yips or the shoulder or a combination of the two.
Let's say it is the shoulder:
Well, guess what, something that wasn't mental could now become mental. He knows people are making fun of his free throw shot. He is a guy who hasn't been in many pressure situations and now all eyes are on him not being able to hit the rim at the free throw line. That can really shake a guy's confidence. He needs to sit if he is hurt because it isn't helping his confidence by playing.
If it is the yips:
He needs to take a few weeks off and the Sixers need to say it is the shoulder injury. It gives him an excuse and it gives him time to work on it in the gym and talk to a sports psychologist. It seems like a really bad situation and as people continue to talk about it the more he will feel the pressure, which means the more he will think about it and the worse the problem will get. It could spiral out of control if it is the yips because I see things getting worse and not better.
I think it is the yips for two reasons: 1) If it were the shoulder injury the obvious move would be to sit him for a few weeks. You already had him show up at your home opener so you can mitigate the they never have their rookies to start the season narrative. Of course people will make fun of the organization but at least he saw the court for a few games. They have to know that playing through a shoulder injury could really affect his confidence. 2) When he did went hard to the paint in the first game against the Wizards and just naturally shot without having time to think about it. It looked really smooth. It's at the 3:18 mark.
There is a chance that it is a shoulder injury that he couldn't hurt more by playing but it requires surgery to fix. So, they told him to go out there and play and if it's not working they will shut him down for the year and he gets surgery.
