Houston is a great basketball town, with rich history of (H)Akeem and the back to back championship Rockets that featured Sam Cassel and Robert Horry along with guys like Xavier. it is also a great football town that had Warren Moon and the spread offense with standard 4 WRs on every down. what it isn't, is being a baseball town.

wished another Dodger vs Yanks series.

we got the JV opponent in terms of history, but the best legit opponent in terms of 2017 record.

whatever, we are gonna win it all.

Wow...okay.

Good luck to you as well.

Can you believe that Houston offered Friedman the job some time before Stan Kasten was able to woo him into Dodger Blue?

I love this for the Dodgers.
I love this for the city of Houston.
I love it for baseball...two of the sports most forward thinking franchises will duke it out for the WS.

well of course there is that, and along with PR and Florida, hope their town gets rebuilt. especially PR really needs every help they can get.

but the WS is ours. I don't even want this to be close. shut them down in 4 games with about 25 run differential, sounds right for me.
i was really looking forward to yet another Dodger vs Yankee WS and to take one more win from them.

we met more than any other two AL vs NL teams in WS in history of MLB. we won 3 out of 11 encounters those years were 1955, our very first WS, then 63, and 81. I was licking my fingers for the 4th in 12 match ups this year. I am absolutely pissed they didn't make it.

and I expect the Yanks to keep making it for the next several years, just to lose to us every time so we can avenge all the loses this franchise was dealt with in the 40s and 50s.
ehhhhh f it.

hey nothing personal. hope Houston is rebuild back as good as new as soon as possible.

but your team was there in 2005. we haven't even been there since 1988 when I was in 8th grade. the dodgers went through since then 2 horrible ownerships that didn't care to win. the Fox bought us from O'Malleys to gain a nationwide sports cable channels established, then traded our heart and soul away to do it. McCourts were dirtbags who used us as their personal ATM machine while firing our entire international scouting department, downsizing our domestic scouting to a point of having 1 scout per dozen states, signing players on deferred contracts, and still to this day owns a piece of the parking lot our current owners pay 14 million a year to that POS for the next century. we finally have the right ownership. we finally have the right FO. we finally have the players to make it happen. this is our year. I wanted the Yankees to be our sacrificial lamb. then you guys beat the yankees. I am pissed. but not at you guys, but to those damn Yankees for losing.

Yea it's all good man, I get where you're coming from. If I were a Dodger fan, beating the crap out of the Yankees would be my dream as well given the history between those teams.

I wouldn't say we're not a baseball town though. Obviously football is king here in Texas, but this city absolutely loves their Astros, and seeing them where they are now after multiple 100 loss seasons is awesome. Going through the Sawx and the Yanks to get to the WS is such a great feeling, even more so than 2005 for me. Watching them do it here at home with everything we've been through recently was just beautiful.

It should be a really good series, whatever happens.

I still remember watching that Oakland/LA series as a kid, and I hope the result will be different for us than it was for the A's. Hell, I hope we don't get swept this time. As much as I loved the Biggio/Bagwell/Berkman era, this team is so much more fun to watch.

Too bad Oswalt can't suit up and throw a game for us.

Meh. Time for another city to build its baseball rep. I’ll take these rings however they come though I would like to avenge some of those WS losses to the Yankees.

But with a fraud like Josh Redick saying things like this, I have something to look forward to.

Are you guys confident or nervous?

I think we have the better team but I will remain nervous until we actually bring one home.
Even up 9-1, I was watching each pitch in game 5 like my life depended on it.

SMFH.

We have to get GM 1... If we do, I'm pretty confident. Until then, I'm not making any predictions... This has the makings of a GM7 nail-biter IMO... But I guess I'd say I'm Quietly Optimistic at this point.

Being in austin, I wanted to try to get over for a game... But it ain't happening... Sucks though because my Wife has a conference there this weekend too...

Pile of Sour Grapes

I was okay with Reddick during his time as a Dodger and even wouldn't have minded had he returned to the team at a reasonable price for LF, but dude is just a clown. I figured he'd eventually get out of his slump as a Dodger through his noted hard work, but for him to act like the fans were on him for no reason is delusional. His defense in RF wasn't even reliable for us. Dude just went 1 for 25 against the Yankees in the ALCS and is batting .171 in the postseason. I want us to destroy him in the World Series.

Speaking of sour grapes, the D-backs and their fans still can't get over their inferiority complex.

My World Series Roster

Post#1499 » by Ranma » Mon Oct 23, 2017 8:35 pm

For away games, I'd DH Seager with Culberson replacing him in the field and batting 9th. I preferred Darvish in Game 2 going up against arguably the best pitcher in the postseason in Verlander, but with the heat wave and his previous experience in Texas, Yu probably gives us the best chance of winning Game 3 more so than he would in Game 2.

Starting Pitchers
    LHP - Clayton Kershaw
    RHP - Yu Darvish
    LHP - Rich Hill
    LHP - Alex Wood
Batting Order Lineup
    CF - Chris Taylor
    3B - Justin Turner
    1B - Cody Bellinger
    RF - Yasiel Puig
    SS - Corey Seager
    LF - **** Hernandez
    C - Austin Barnes
    2B - Logan Forsythe
Bench
    C- Yasmani Grandal
    SS - Charlie Culberson
    2B - Chase Utley
    LF - Andre Ethier
    CF - Joc Pederson
Bullpen
    RHP - Kenley Jansen
    RHP - Brandon Morrow
    LHP - Tony Watson
    LHP - Tony Cingrani
    RHP - Kenta Maeda
    RHP - Josh Fields
    LHP - Luis Avilan
    RHP - Brandon McCarthy
