Maybe, but I think it's more likely he doesn't want to waste his prime on a team that's getting beat by 40 against 6th seed contenders. I also have a hard time imagining the Bledsoe enjoyed Watson's preach-y style, but I guess we'll see in the coming weeks.

I didn't like Watson as a coach and wanted him gone. But we'll never get anywhere significant as long as the owner/FO don't focus on building a defensive minded team that plays the right way (i know it's not that easy but still). As long as they keep focusing on run n gun bull and stupid gimmicks like "3 point guards" or "TWINS!!" this is what will eventually happen.

That's cause he let them do whatever the **** they wanted. Take every stupid shot and play for stats.

Gambo is such a mouth piece for Sarver it's crazy lol.

If the players liked Watson they should have played harder for him. The lack of effort and absurdly awful defense that has somehow gotten worse this season is the reason he is gone. Lose by 10-15 and he would still be the coach.

we knew this, well atleast I did anyways. Watson did not have professional coaching credential. Maybe if he became an assistant for a few years prove his worth there... but he got the top job by preaching.

So Bledsoe was just mad at the front office who probably demanded he sit last year and then finally seeing them fire Watson, that was enough.

wow i can't believe they actually did it. I wonder who they have in mind or if they will promote an interim head coach until they find someone else. Who is even out there at the moment?

Also, I am excited to see what possibilities are out there for Bledsoe even if there aren't many. I just want the team to be settled. New coach, new leaders in Booker and Jackson, and let's start trying hard in games. I just hope this doesn't sour Jackson's development.

Man but I am excited to see what this team will be like under a true coach. Just kind of annoying it didn't happen at the end of last year so they'd have the entire offseason to adjust

many players who's buddies with Watson will be angry for him.

But they dont see what happened at the back, they only see what happens on the court... and will not know that what they see on the court is a product of what happens at the back and during huddles.... and that's Watson's coaching abilities were lacking.

What former players? You would think it meant players that actually played under Watson some.

Will they try some NCAA coach? Would make sense with such an early move.

I think giving the keys to Booker to run the point most of the time is also a factor. Bledsoe was ball watching when Booker handles the ball as in he wasn't comfortable playing off ball when he's the main point guard.

Yeah. I don't know if it's McDonough or Sarver, but we always find a way to be hated by all of our own players. It's really sad.

We never go after big names, and I'm not sure who is out there that would probably want to coach mid season. George Karl? We probably just go with Jay Triano for now, but it would be nice if there was a name we could get.

David Blatt?

I don't think a big name coach would leave his team right as season is starting, but I guess it's happened before.
