Feeling sick.

Our 2 best players were the worst tonight (even if Russ woke up at the end)

Such a blatant foul by Towns.

This is all on Billy. There is no semblance of a structured offense. He may as well be singing sweet caroline to the team in huddles and drawing wieners on the whiteboard.

I feel like winning that would have papered over cracks anyway.

Yo, the offense looks worse than it did when it was all Russ. I'd be in a bad mood but meh.

We were garbage last year and Westbrook was insane. You can't put all the blame on the coach. Westbrook was TRASH. PG13 missed MANY easy shots. Roberson is even worse at the FT line than he was last year. Not everything is on Donovan (not saying he's great)

The only positive is that Russ came alive. Biggest concern for me is we couldn’t get any stops. Our defense isn’t very good.

Westbrook was trash. As was George. But when you're basically playing street ball on the **** court for 48 minutes it's hard to get any semblance of rhythm and fluidity going. That's on Billy.

Last year at the game I went to against Utah Billy wasn't coaching in huddles, it was all the assistants.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

If 31/5/10 on 50% shooting with 2 turnovers is trash then I'll take Russ being trash any day. He struggled for 3 quarters but more than made up for it i the 4th.

But of course. He's had to conserve energy for when his team really needed coaching, during the playoffs...

Now that I’m calmed down, I’m glad we lost. This guys don’t need to think they can like crap and still eek out a win if they turn it on at the end. Defense was inconsistent the whole game. Talent only wins if you play the right way.

The only upside is that I don't fee like George or Westbrook have put together an entire game yet this season. I'm pretty sure Melo is what you see is what you get, but the other two will eventually get some sort of balance.

jerami grant, alex abrines, josh huestis = replacement level players. andre roberson isn't lighting the world on fire, but over the past three seasons he has been average to above average, at least. playing those guys minutes over andre roberson will cost the team. not playing roberson 4Q minutes will cost the team. you can talk about airballs or whatever, i'm talking about actual results over thousands of minutes.

maybe this is something to do over the course of the season if something isn't working. but tinkering around messing with robes' minutes is not only bad for the team, it's messed up considering how well units with him in there with westbrook have played.

It's not about stats. He's just doing everything wrong. Slowing the pace all game (besides 4th quarter) and trying some too predictable passes.
Of course he had to be on attack mode in the end because we were losing badly. That's not an excuse. If he played like he used to, he wouldn't need to make those crazy 3's in the 4th.

I wanted the win mostly for Felton and Adams who deserved it badly (and a winner shot from Anthony would have been great for his confidence)

Per stats.nba.com, we attempted 4 corner 3s tonight.

Roberson 1x
Felton 1x
Patterson 1x
Melo 1x

Melo's was the only make.

Over the 1st two games, we attempted 14 corner 3s and made 5.
