Season Speculation, Trade Ideas & Discussion Pt. 2
Sarver extended McD with agreement regarding the timeline right?
Suns reputation is so bad at the moment that No FA will come and any expiring stars they trade for will leave... So Sarver needs to be patient.
Teach the youth how to play the game the right way... Get a coach who teaches basketball and not a Mr.Carter wannabe. These kids are rich and went to college for most of them even for a short time they need to be coached to be good players first then have good example veterans on the team to teach them how to be men.
Hence Chandler and Dudley or one of them should be kept as that veteran. But coaching wise they need someone who will make the youth better players.

I would love that.
Why? Can we please hire someone with coaching experience this time?
With a quality system.

The rest of this season is going to be ROUGH....and i have a feeling that the atmosphere around here is going to go from mildly optimistic to dreadful.
What a way to celebrate the Suns 50th anniversary.

With how terrible the body language and rotations have been, I'm not surprised. As to weather something good comes from all of this, I don't know. I'M JUST NUMB RIGHTNOW!

Re: Season Speculation, Trade Ideas & Discussion
Sarver needs to sell but it won't happen and this team will continue to struggle. We are officially the laughingstock of the NBA at this point. Worse than the Kings. There is a video of JJ out there that just throws gasoline onto this dumpster fire of an organization.
A losing culture, worst facilities in the NBA, an owner perceived by players around the league as cheap and meddlesome, an organization more removed from the community it represents than I can ever remember it being - just zero leadership.
I'm worried about another decade of being irrelevant because the organization as a whole can't function well enough to fix the problems it has while also failing to get the most out of its good things it does accomplish.
Example - drafting Booker then having him play for three different coaches in his first three NBA seasons. I mean that kid came in here with talent, a work ethic, and an amazing attitude toward the Suns and the city of Phoenix. How good is he feeling about his situation tonight? His most talented team mate just tweeted "I don't wanna be here."
This all stems from the top. McD can be an effective GM in a vacuum. He has made good decisions and bad ones. But if the organization as a whole is disjointed and confused the outcome will continue to amount to losses. Lots of them.

I hope McD tells Bledsoe if he wants to get out of here he better go out there and play like it and get that value up after his stupid tweet.

This is just a really bad look for McD no matter the circumstances surrounding this. You can certainly criticise Bledsoe for making it public but this is more a reflection on McD than it is on Bledsoe imo. The two best players we had in the last 3 seasons (Bledsoe, Dragic) both wanted out and made it public. I'm sure Bledsoe had made his feelings known to McD in private as did Dragic but whereas Dragic held his tongue until close to the trade deadline, it took Bledsoe 3 games. That's just not a good look for our front office and a team which have caused its star players to publicly want out is not going to be one which many FA's would want to be involved with.
It's both sad and ironic that McD's grand plan since the beginning was to trade for disgruntled stars from other teams, only for him to trade away disgruntled stars from his own team

I don't know about that one, Dragic was frustrated with his role, Bledsoe seems like he could very well be reacting to the Watson firing. Also, it seems like this is becoming a trend, I look at Paul George and Kyrie and both of those guys went to the media if I recall correctly.
But you are right, McD does not have a good track record, and this will only make it worse. He is his own worst enemy, but i'm glad Bledsoe forced his hand to make this move now. He was not our point guard of the future and much as McD wanted him to be.

Would anyone besides Dragic be opposed to trading Bledsoe for Dragic?

I think the most obvious and concerning trend is the trade demands coming from Suns players. If this organization can't figure it out its going to be Booker doing it in 3-4 years.

Goran shouldn't have to be subject to that kind of punishment. He did his time. Two bids. Let the man live his life!

That is so true, that poor guy has seen the worst of this league since he got here, he has seen two coaches get fired in two season and 3 games, and watched two players request a trade to get out.

If we were to take Gambo's version of events in which Bledsoe had made it known to McD that he wanted out then that combined with a horrific start to the season could easily be the cause of the frustration leading to the tweet.Blackification wrote:lilfishi22 wrote:Blackification wrote:I hope McD tells Bledsoe if he wants to get out of here he better go out there and play like it and get that value up after his stupid tweet.

As I said, regardless of the fine details around this particular airing of dirty laundries, it's not a good look for McD. And while it's very early, I do have a little bit of concern about not just Booker's view on his future with the Suns but also his engagement with this franchise. With Bledsoe on his way out, Booker is the undisputed best player on this team and I hope we can recover from this not just so Booker can see we're on the right track from top to bottom but also so that other FA's and stars see we do have a solid foundation for the future and it is a team worth joining.

3 years? This west is so stacked we will be lucky to sniff the second round within 5 years.

Re: Season Speculation, Trade Ideas & Discussion
I mentioned this already but I would add the 2018 Miami 1st to get this deal done, maybe even the 2021 Miami 1st instead.

Jabari is a prime-time player regardless of his injury IMO and he's worth gambling on. This is the kind of move I would expect Ryan McD to make. He also has a history of trading with the Bucks for players before they become restricted free agents so there is that as well. Just Brandon Knight, but whatevs.
I could see a play being drawn up where Jabari is ISO'd on the perimeter and having Bender/Jackson in the corners and Booker floating the elbow three. We need a scorer of Parker's caliber.

Ok, my issue with this is Parker has torn the ACL in his left knee TWICE now. He also is at the end of his rookie contract, so how do you judge his future payday? He supposedly is supposed to be back around just after the All-star game, so that only gives around a month to try to see what we would have in him, and if it really is just a month left in the season, wouldnt it kind of make sense not to rush him and just sit him for the entire season? So now you are basing his rookie contract extension on what he did a few seasons ago. Thats kind of scary.
And what would bringing in Parker do to the development of the other youngsters playing the same position? Im sure Chriss and Bender would love to fall further down the depth chart.
The deal you posted would be a no go in my book. Giving up Bledsoe for a chance to maybe have something in a injured player who has spent half of his rookie contract on the sidelines rehabbing his knee and for an expiring Monroe? Word is that the Bucks offer to Cleveland for Irving was Bogdan/Middleton/Bucks 1st. I would want at least Parker/Bogdon with the Chandler/Monroe swap included just to think about it.
But another problem is that even the Bucks were looking at using Parker to dump contracts. They were trying to get involved in the HOU/NY Melo 3-way by including Parker to go to NY if the Knicks were willing to take on their bad contracts in Henson and Delly. NY wisely passed. So i doubt that they would allow Monroes $18M expiring escape them and they would probably instead push Henson on us.
