Re: If Bledsoe is available
This is a tough one. Its got to be a package that won't be outrageous for Detroit as its PHX who's under stress here.Blkbrd671 wrote:...............................

Also Bledsoe is injury prone as hell. Huge risk of picking him up if you trade Reggie. Ish? Yeah no problem. Ish, Leuer can go back along with some picks. It would make the PG rotation the best in the league.
Tough call for an injury plagued, but talented player.

Re: If Bledsoe is available
PHX has no real leverage after that tweet Bledsoe sent, just like they were in a tough spot when Markieff was publicly critical of PHX after trading Marcus. They won’t get much in return for him at this stage.
I think Bledsoe would be a good fit with AB, but worry about his health. I don’t see a Rich Paul client landing here, but maybe by renouncing KCP and letting him become a free agent the relationship hasn’t gone completely sour. Plus SVG has a history of making deals with PHX.
I’d do RJ and a first round top 3 protected pick. We’re not drafting in the top 10 this year, and are likely playoff bound anyway. No problem getting rid of the 15-20 pick and RJ for Bledsoe.

Re: If Bledsoe is available
how does an ish+leuer+Boban+1st rounder for bledsoe+chandler+2nd deal sound?
I would take a flyer on Bledsoe with the insurance policy of Galloway. the think this opens up more minutes for Henry, gives us a proven backup center that might be able to get Dre in the right mindset, and if Bledsoe is healthy come playoff time gives us so serious firepower in that he's a hell of a defensive point guard still.

Re: If Bledsoe is available
I could definitely see SVG trading RJ the second he proves he is healthy, which he is doing right now. I like RJ (when healthy of course) but I would have to pull the trigger on an RJ/Ellenson/1st rounder for bledsoe trade. I know everyone will blow their lid with that offer but it's only because of the Pistons glasses. Bledsoe is a 20+ ppg scorer with excellent defense. Imagine a Bledsoe/Bradley/Johnson perimeter defense
Bledsoe/Smith
Bradley/Kennard
Johnson/Harris
Harris/Tolliver
Drummond/Leuer/Marjanovic/Moreland
We would basically be one trade away (for an allstar PF) from being a top 3 team in the East after that.

Suns fans say his Defense has fallen off a bit.
I was all for it before the season began but I'm a little hesitant now.

Your going to trade RJ, ellenson, AND a pick for a player openly asking for a trade on Twitter when the team has zero power and has massive health issues?
Trade for an all star PF with the way Harris is balling?
I'm not being jerky, I'm just confused by "Pistons glasses" comment when its established that in these situations the team on bledoes end of the stick has, lost all their power.
No need to trade Reggie, and throwing in Henry, AND a pick? Don't understand.

RJ was much more of a malcontent than when he was demanding a trade. He also has an injury history too. Bledsoe has been quiet for a long time while he has been in trade rumors for over a year now so he finally got fed up with it and is trying to force the process. Marcus Morris was a malcontent too apparently and was model citizen here so I'm not very deterred by his twitter comment. The injury thing is more relevant but it's not like he is Derrick Rose or something. I think it would be a smart gamble to take us up a notch.
The Pistons glasses comment was referring to Ellenson. I just feel like a ton of people around here are overly attached to him so I assumed they would scoff at trading him in a package for Bledsoe.
Harris would obviously slide to SF if we acquired a PF. Also, lets not pretend Harris is going to average 30 ppg for the season. He will cool down a bit probably. I would probably offer something involving Johnson if the right PF came along.

Besides that, I HATE Harris at SF. He is a wierd player and while I would KILL to have a KP, or AD type of player next to Andre, its just not realistic. Harris fits at power and if the team did somehow trade for a killer PF, I would rather Harris came off the bench.
Bledsoe Bradley and Johnson defensively does make me salivate though, no lies in that.

I'm in the camp that Harris is just as good at SF than he is at PF. The Knicks game was an example of that where they had Tolliver at PF and Harris at SF for a decent amount of the second half. He played great at SF. Like Jackson said
"If you're a PF, how do you want it?'
"If you're a SF, how do you want it?"
lol

hell, Myles Turner would look great next to Drummond, but we aren't signing the Pf that we need, and they are way too valuable to trade. we have to take a chance and probably trade up for one in the draft.

Tobias is good on offense at either spot, but he gets exposed more on the wing than he does playing Pf, plain and simple. The man refuses to bend his knees and get into anything that resembles a defensive position.

Re: If Bledsoe is available
Man I'm torn on this. I feel this current team is on the cusp of something really damn good and I want to give them a chance as it could pan out organically, but you never turn down a talent upgrade if it FITS, and makes the team better.
I'm just not sure bledoes the better player(defensively its a no contest)and in the crunch Jackson's amongst the best in the league hands down.
I would rather move ish Henry picks for Bledsoe Chandler. That's the best move as it upgraded across the board.

We would need to send Moreland out at the deadline to drop out of the LT.

two things, I would want to give up Henry just yet, he really responds to SVG and I see him developing every year consistently under him. that's why it got to be Leuer instead of him, we know what Leuer is, he isn't getting better. secondly the only hang up truly is Reggie Jackson. could he handle splitting the Starting role or would it turn into some OKC drama and asking to be traded. egos and playing time are a big thing in the NBA and I don't know if both guards are willing to sacrifice form something great, they are both only 27. but on paper, that team would be a top 3 team in the east, easy.

I would actually like to keep him, I think Chandler would be a great mentor to him, Henry and Dre. all of them are young and need some direction.

personally, i don't think we can truly be great with this team, we can be good but not great. with this roster, we still don't have a point guard that can stay in front of a true starting point in this league. bradley is a great defender but would be better if he didn't have to guard the starting point every night. secondly, we don't have anyone that can alter a shot or be an anchor behind dre.
