Not really, Prince was the worst player on the floor in that third and got benched as a result. We were down 5 with a 4 on 3 transition chance to keep momentum going and Prince attempted this horrendous behind the back pass, as if he was playing for the globetrotters and not professional basketball. I'm sure that was the last straw for coach Bud.

Good news if so.

Should just sit out until home opener Friday.

No mentions of how many horrible plays Baze made? Especially at the beginning of the game. He had an airball. A pass straight out of bounds, and a 'layup' that missed the entire backboard. All in about the first 3 minutes. 5 turnovers in the box score is amazingly generous. Really looked like Collins was the only one who came to play today. Not sure why he didn't get more minutes. i would have let him foul out.

What is it about this team and Sunday afternoon games in NY?

Why do we get so many of them in the schedule?

And why are we so consistently terrible in them?

A nice game by John Collins.

He's now avg 11 ppg and 6.7 rpg through 3 games played.

He has a PER of 20.5.

He just has to do better to avoid fouling while playing passable defense.

The Nets crowded the paint on defense and Schroder had no plan other than running into this crowded paint. He played impatient like a rook and made bonehead decisions. He and Prince were the worst players on the court.

But anyway, get well soon Dennis

:(

One down and 26 to go if we are to be a 27 win team. After that game one win, Hawks have looked bad.

Remember that old, comic movie: "The gang that can't shoot straight." ? Does that sound like Atlanta?

I'm so proud of their free throw shooting % this season. Now, if they can improve their scoring from the
floor. Finally, Hawks rallied in the 4th, hit two threes and tied the game. I left for church at that point.
I found out that the Nets hit two threes, the Hawks PG was injured and it was all over.

Our road journey continues tonight. When we do get home, it will not be like home for many of this season's
team because they have never played there and none have played in the new, changed, home court.

Dennis will miss tonight. Do we have a point guard to fill in? We're hurting there, aren't we. Already have
one back up missing with a broken arm. Dang. - :banghead:

Can this year's Hawk team learn to play defense without fouling? Do we have players who can hit the 3 ball?
Can we defend the three point line? Searching for answers to these questions tonight in Miami.

WAKE UP HAWKS !!

Nets fan here, sending best wishes to you guys re: Dennis, that injury made me cringe and after we just lost our guy to a season ender i was hoping Schroeder's injury was just a sprain.

Good game, you guys are seriously underrated. Very active defensively.

Well you missed the comwback in the 4th from down 14 and Dennis' injury. Nasty ankle twist.

Caught the comeback on the radio got excited turned it on when I got home and Dennis immediately gets injured. And we lose.
Sad trombone.

I feel like the Nets are also very underrated. Sucked to lose Lin. Crabbe buried us yesterday. Kenny is a great coach and I've always thought Mozgov was underrated.

Without Dennis is going to be pretty ugly. We have some guys but they are all just too inconsistent right now, but so far the effort is there.

Schroder might come back on Thursday. That injury could have been A LOT worse than it actually was, especially after seeing him put absolutely no pressure on the ankle. We dodged a bullet.

I hope they hold him out until Friday. No sense chancing it with the home opener on the back end of a back to back on the back end of a 5 game road trip. The opening schedule is a real joke. 5 game road trip, 2 back to backs.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
