I really would have liked the Suns to have gotten Rubio. Granted he can't shoot, but I think he'd help make the young guys around him better with his unselfishness.

If I'm the Bucks I am not moving Brogdon, in 2 years he is likely better than Bledsoe, or at least more useful, a better fit, obviously younger and cheaper.

That's insanity. Bledsoe averaged 21, 6, and 5 last year coming off his best year ever. He is 27. Brogdon averaged 10 and 4. In 2 years Brogdon will not likely be better than Bledsoe. Brogdon is 24. He is only 3 years younger than Bled, so to think he would develop at such a faster rate to catch him is ludicrous.

I like Brogdon. I would require him in any Bled deal with Milwaukee, but it would have to take significantly more than just him to do that deal and for good reason.

I'd take Brogdan at 16/4 and at 25yo over a disgruntled Bledsoe's 21/6/5 at 28yo and wanting out, any day of the week. Brogdan might be one of the most underwhelming ROY's in recent history but he's still young, healthy and still has potential. Bledsoe has basically hit his peak and is always going to be an injury risk. I wanted to offload Bledsoe last offseason if not for his value peaking then for removing that injury risk factor from this team.

Fact is this, we shouldn't expect great value from Bledsoe now that we've essentially imploded as an NBA team organisationally and from a reputation standpoint. With him wanting out, opposing teams taste blood in the water and they aren't going to play nice.

Chandler would have to be added (Which im fine with).

If that was the deal, i'd begrudgingly take it.

yes, i would be very good with it

I think the culture change starts with Chandler and Bledsoe leaving - or continues with them leaving

there is a deal to be made - I think its with milwaukee

I'd much rather make a deal with Denver than Milwaukee. Throwing Chriss in for Milwaukee seems particularly insane when giving up by far the best player in the deal.

So you're assuming that both Bledsoe won't get any better and that Brogdan will not get injured? Bledsoe may be disgruntled on this team, but he wouldn't be on the team he is going to, so why is that the deciding factor here? Also, Bledsoe has been fairly healthy the last few years. He sat out last year to tank.

That might be the worst defensive team in the NBA, and maybe worse than our current one. Also, Saric isn't a SF.

I think the most likely destinations are Denver and Milwaukee. Maybe NJN if they want to replace Lin or Philly for something else. Really though I think Philly makes more sense in terms of Knight for Okafor since both have tanked value.

Why? Can we please hire someone with coaching experience this time?

A veterean HC is an expensive HC. If I Have learned something about Sarver is that he hates to pay big money to the coaches. So I expect another "Porter", "Gentry"or "Hunter" or"Hornacek" or "Watson" coming over next summer.

Over that option, I would love to bring Steve Nash. I think that he is so smart that he can be a good assistant or even HC since day one.

But he probably doesn't want to coach full time, so this option is just a dream.

Well maybe he will spend more now that the new tv deal and revenues are coming in...and we are well under the cap for now.

Brogdon is a far better shooter. That alone makes him a better fit. Bledsoe has never made our team better. It's just gotten worse and worse ever since we got rid of the other point guards. He has no bbiq and plays like a rb who hits the offensive line before a hole opens up or launches up a dumb 3 after dribbling standing still for 10 seconds.

6'5, decent defender, shoots on good percentages, thats about all i really know. Its hard because even though he is a PG, he plays off the ball due to the Greek Freak really running the point, so Bogdon doesnt get many assists. He's also a bit older due to the fact he spent 4 years in college.

This article here gives a good breakdown as to what he brings to the table (Complete with video breakdowns):

https://nbamath.com/rookie-of-the-year-is-only-the-beginning-for-malcolm-brogdon/

Ive been trying to read up on him alot as i see a lot of Bucks fans offering him up for Bledsoe.

Brogdon's not a PG, but he could probably play PG. He came into the league as a SG. But he is a good distributor so if you have another guard who is also a good passer, it could work fairly well. I imagine Booker could somewhat play a Harden type roll, but they could each avg 5 assists.

Disappointed it sounds like we won't get a player with All-Star potential or top 10 pick for Bledsoe.

You can get role players in FA any season and we've seen 'winning' individual deals means nothing for wins.

I think I try to get a guy like Mark Jackson

I doubt Majerle is leaving the Godfather and GCU

Jackson is just doing TV - he can be in Phoenix tomorrow

I get Kerr got GSW over the top but Jackson helped get them there. HE helped mold those young players.

If not that - find a lifer assistant - Steve Clifford, David Fizdale, JB Bickerstaff type - a guy that has been in the second chair and is not new to this like Hunter, Hornacek, Watson.

The mistake with Watson was not interviewing other people

At this point - -if the Suns move Chandler and Bledsoe - as I think both need to go - its because you are totally tearing it down and secondly, you realize that Bledsoe is not part of the long term of the team so you move him now. If you get less than value, in some ways, so what - its about building a team moving forward.

I would really appreciate a blockbuster. Not interested in moving any picks, Booker, Jackson or Bender, and generally hesitant to trade our other young guys as well. But I think McD has whatever leeway he needs to do something fairly dramatic. I'm down.

Brogdon wouldn't be a bad acquisition. He can play PG next to Booker since Booker has some playmaking skills. Plus Brogdon is an excellent 3 & D player.

I agree - I am thinking Bledsoe, Chriss, Chandler, the Heat pick, possibly another pick is in play

Parker, Teletovic, Brogan and Monroe works for Bledsoe, Chriss and Chandler. Miami pick could be added I guess

Clips just lost the PG I think - Milos T - - what about Bledsoe for Sweet Lou, Wesley Johnson and a 1st

Return to Phoenix Suns
