You were correct then, and you are correct now. Russell was a better prospect than Fultz.
It's tough to say. If Fultz ever gets his shot back, then I feel like he's a better prospect because he's clearly more athletic and quick. If the shot ends up undoing Fultz, then obviously Russell is the better player. I also think Russell would fit in better with Embiid and Simmons since they have a common connection and he has a quick trigger 3 pt shot.
But all of this is contingent on Fultz's shot, in my opinion. I know that's not how you feel though.
Y'all are so quick to take the worst case scenario seriously. 5 games and his shot is gone forever.
Obviously, this is not a dream start up, but it's eminently reasonable to project that this bizarro form is going to be very temporary.
And meanwhile, Fultz looks pretty good in most of the areas that the draft detractors like E-Balla on the draft board harped incessantly on. I remember the "he's slow and can't get anywhere without a pick" mantra. Fultz has almost completely dispelled that notion - he is consistently getting into the teeth of the D with or without a pick.
Take heart - it's far more likely that Fultz regains his previous shooting form than that this is the new Fultz. In which case, you really did get a stud because the physical tools are clearly quite good.
*Ahem*

"You think perspective is your ally? You guys merely adopted a worst case scenario (Hayward injury), we were born in it (Bynum signing; Nerlens out one year; Embiid out for two years), molded by it (Drafting Okafor; Colangelo taking over). "

It's been awhile but I feel you - Len Bias dying, Reggie Lewis dying and then Paul Pierce getting stabbed over a span of 15 years. I thought we were legitimately cursed.

Dennis Smith is the last bastion....o wait he literally can't make it a week without icing his knees.
Ouch when you are right you are right. Well we still have to wait for Monk to have an absolutely fantastic game so the people that wanted him to be drafted at #3 can come and voice their support for him.
JJ shooting mechanics statement was excellent.

I looked back into the 76ers archives. Didn't the Boston Strangler...Andrew Toney complain of foot pains, that basically the 76ers said did not exist or he could play through? Which ended up having a negative effect on his career and his relationship with the organization?
But that is ancient history this organization has moved on from this sort of behavior.

Sad that it takes to the eye candy(*gag*) to ask a decent question but
Found it weird how no one was mentioning any of it in post game outside of Markelle and Coach.

To be fair, back then stress fractures were harder to locate. Playing someone injured is the opposite of what the Sixers have done recently with Simmons and Embiid’s foot issue, Bayless wrist injury.
Then you have Embiids knee issue, Okafors 11 month recovery from an 8 week knee surgery, much like Embiids and you have one of the most inconsistent mecical staffs in pro sports. Even going back to Jrues stress fractures in his leg.
Thankfully Hayward didnt crack his ankle in Philly, they probably would have set his ankle backwards, and cost us two draft picks.

Everyone in the Sixers front office AND coaching staff needs to be fired. We've got folks on Instagram and other places calling him Bustelle Fultz and making fun of his entire game, all of this is the result of an incompetent front office and coaching staff who doesn't know what to do; even though the solution is quite simple (ie keeping him out of games for the next 3-4 weeks until either he gets his shooting back on track and/or whatever injury he has heels).

Why our fans care about what other fans think of us and our team is the most confusing thing to me.

Thats a good one but I'm perplexed by the lack of patience from a fan base that prided itself on "having the longest view in the room" and "Trusting the process."
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Waiting for announcement that Fultz is shut down indefinitely pending a more thorough evaluation of his shoulder.

It has to be his shoulder. No shooting instructor would tell you to practice shots like that.

Could teach Okafor a few things about defense clearly.
but at least he can shoot right?
Great mechanics on his shot right here.
Honestly... so pissed Jackson cancelled the Celtics meeting whilst he was 38,000 feet in the air. Ainge was ready to pick up this bust and waste their pick.... and Jackson bailed the Celtics out.

This issue was the most predictable of all his deficiencies. Inability to get clean shots off against the weakest of college defenders, without getting a pick. You can't blow past or over a college player, you're gonna get your contested shot blocked in the NBA. This won't be easily fixed.
This is such a crock of @*#^#. This hasn't been a problem for him this year. His problem is for some reason he isn't even thinking about taking a step back or open jumper. I've seen him turn down wide open shots all season so far.
I don't think it is an injury thing, but I think the 76ers need to at least pretend it is and get him to fix the issue.
