I wouldnt even bring up Lonzo but you brought up Simmons;-)

Yeah I'm pacing good faith in Simmons and not Ball because of the size/athleticism gap.

noone cares, go debate that in some other thread

The larger point being the 8/8 is only achievable by a handful of players whose physical profiles don't match up with Doncic's.

I think Batum's rpg and apg are fairly close to what I think Doncic will do statistically but maybe not in the same stylistic manner.

I really like Luka but for everybody that is gonna come and sing his praises, and deservedly so as he has been tremendous and is on a tear now, he is just unfair here, he is about 235 with the skills of a Guard, and has played other than CSKA no team that has a real wing that can stick with him, the small guys that can bother his dribble, are gonna get smothered by his physicality, and bigger guys in Europe aren't used to defend PnR, there are not real playmaking wing players in Europe, they leave early.

Just take the production within the context.

Batum in prime and Dončić at 19 years.
But Luka might not be in NBA next season.
Year later they will not be comparable any more.

whats there to say 27/8/5 in 27 min, drawn 10 fouls.

He was taken out with 6 minutes left and Milano quickly came to just -3. he was put back in to secure the win with PIR of 41, probably will take mvp of the week

Well I dont know what's going on right now, but it's getting pretty ridiculous. 27/8/5 with 3 steals in 28 minutes. Too bad he missed last shot, would be nice to round it up to 30. Real stays undefeated, even though half of their players are injured.

I was hoping Luka would average around 13 ppg this season, crazy with how much confidence he's playing right now.

He's scoring rate is insane right now.
He's averaging 26 PTS per 40 Min right now after this game.

Those "he might be an early bloomer and might have already hit his ceiling" posts from 6 months ago sure do look interesting right about now.

It would be better if he would play for smaller club. He would get more opportunity to show how good he is.

Sarcasm off. I don’t remember if I ever saw Bird or Magic when they were 18 played that good.

looks good. showcased all the things that are loved about him. Definitely liked the off ball movement, loved him working against the smaller guy in the post, really nice change of direction on that one drive will need to work on the early release at the next level.

the freshmen numbers both put up were pretty crazy but we're talking about a different era, a different game, and a different level of comp. not sure where you're going with this point.

Is he getting more athletic all of sudden? He really looks special out there.

definitely looked quicker on the drives to me. more efficient with his ball handling, made a decision and went with it and incorporated counters and fakes to keep the defense off balance. all of that bodes well going forward and it's coming together nicely.

I don't know that he has gotten more athletic.

Maybe a little stronger but his burst and verticality are about where they've been.

His handle has gotten a little better and his mentality has changed on his drives.

He is actually looking at the rim instead of looking for the pass 95% of the time.

becoming Real's main creator has really helped his scoring volume, aggressiveness and variety. Starting to really develop both a power and finesse post game, plus actually consistently trying to attack the rim in the half court.

his preference for the two-foot gather is still a concern for me. two potential easy layups blocked because he didn't get the footwork right to elevate off one foot. Hopefully this can be trained out of him.

Another thing he needs to do is fix his ankle rocker so he gets more purchase/leverage when running/jumping. Can't generate enough force. Watching some videos from early last season and the problem wasn't there, seemed to crop up midway through the season. Continuing to go to P3 should help as long as they know this is something that needs to be addressed.

Yes. Understandable. At 18 their competition was much lower then his too. Who would have said they would become so good. Comparable to older bballers.

I hope we are all in agreement that Porter and Ayton really has no chance to be #1.

Unless Bagley plays like a hybrid of Anthony Davis meets Kevin Garnett, Doncic is going #1.

I don’t know.
He has a lot to do.
We are still waiting for his new basketball shoes contract. What they are waiting? With his EB performance and his baby face smile he should sell a lot of child basketball shoes. And in few years in Nba those are the seeds for bigger sentimental selling numbers. His father have his part of homework to do too.

And LeBron already impressed by Markannen. Next level.
