Man its a comedy of errors from the Pelicans. No wonder this team has had some trouble making the playoffs.

It was ugly, but I'll take it! Hope Ant Davis is okay.

Well even if AD was out there it still wouldn't stop stuff like Clark hitting Lillard on the head while he shoots a 3 Nelson passing to Cunningham who slips on his own two feet.

I mean the list goes on and on... Obviously they are better with AD without question but I just rarely see such ridiculous plays with 2-3 minutes to go left in the 4th.

That sure wasn't pretty down the stretch. I thought they were lucky.

Nurkic did a good job at the end to frustrate Cousins.

I think this makes it 17 years in a row with the opening home game win.

Yep the movie Cast Away was coming out in a month the last time the Blazers lost at home on the home opener.

Anyways this was a scrappy win by the Blazers and a bit of a gut check they kept it close the entire game despite CJ and Lillard both missing almost everything they threw at the rim. Then pulled ahead in the 4th thanks to a combination of random mistakes by the other team, and some good scoring bursts by CJ and Lillard at times.

Couldn't catch the game. Why Nurk only play 20 mins? He injured?

Very lucky about Davis going down, would've lost that game otherwise. Still, winning a game where you shoot 37%, turn it over 19 times isn't too bad. NO not much better though haha

Nurk has to get back in his groove and take over. We need that 15 ppg Bad. Vonleh coming back will help a ton as Aminu can play more aggressively in the 2nd unit.

18th consecutive opening home win though.

Well I don't think it was the stalwart defense by the Pelicans that caused that shooting performance, they had some aggressive defense at times but overall it felt like we couldn't buy a bucket throughout much of the game. Some of the shots were poorly chosen but a lot of them were wide open looks or looks that they normally hit just rimming off.

Evan is quietly having a good year so far. Fitting in at last.

Nurk had 3 fouls in the first like 7 minutes or something, so he sat a lot of the game.

Yep looks like Olshey may have overpaid Evan but at least he is showing what the **** he was paid for in the first place. He made the smart move moving Crabbe though if he had the choice between Crabbe and Turner.

Wolves just got anihilated by the Turner less Pacers at home by 20+ pts. They didn't have Butler but still. I love how overrated that team was last summer.

Why sign Teague when Rubio is just as good?

I can't decide whether the team is overrated or whether they need a difference coach?

Wolves Nuggets Pelicans Rockets. All overrated last summer non looking up to those praises. Rockets traded depth for an injury riddled player who can't play to potential.

Pelicans are literally atwo man team. Nuggets have no of and traded Gallo for Milsap at forward. And the Wolves don't look like that All-star team they were touted as.

Not that far in and we played some weak teams but our defense and point differential is popping.

Yep, its much harder to build a team than just get a bunch of big name players on a roster and call it good. While those teams can be good when its done right and they mesh well there is a hell of a lot more to a great team than collect 2-3 big name players and you're done.
