That’s why saying PG or Point Forward doesn’t really matter and I don’t know why people get bent out of shape when people call Simmons a PG. LeBron didn’t get any shorter when he played “point guard” yesterday.

I was getting bent out of shape cause Brown changed his whole offense, by having our centers stand at the 3pt line all freaking game. In the Det game our centers didnt do that

"Is Ben Simmons a Point Guard or Point Forward?" was an inconsequential summer debate we had to fill the void of no basketball. Literally no one is getting bent out of shape about Ben being called a PG now.

That is until we lose our next game and Embiid camps out at the 3 point line and Simmons shoots 2-12.

Literally literally, or just literally? Because the GTs for games the Sixers lost have lots of "Ben Simmons is not a PG" complaints.

I really never understood all the negative talk of Tatum being an archaic player and people ranking him 7th or 8th and some lower. Just about all Sixer fans said they didn’t want Tatum at any cost. I felt he could be a productive wing. He would have been a good fit with Simmons and Embiid. I think once a few media outlets said ANYONE BUT TATUM then all Sixers fans followed suit and just repeated the same thing.

Can't play off ball. Wasn't he the "ISO Killer"?

All I thought about was how well he'd finish Ben's assists.

Yup. He was the new Carmelo or Rudy Gay. Lol. I did say early on in the season he is like a black hole. Many people ran with that and kept saying that all year but he did pass more after a few games. I stopped calling him a black hole midway through the season.

I remember before the draft he made 19 straight 3s in an empty gym. The clip was talked about a lot on twitter and many Sixers fans said it’s an empty gym and nobody shoots like that in real games. I wasn’t as high on him as you but I was very high on him and would have been ok along with 3 or 4 other players at 3 had we drafted Tatum. Most Sixers fans said no way.

Tatum is sitting on about 8-10% less usage than he had at Duke. He's adapted to Steven's system extremely well.

I don't think anybody should be surprised by his defensive ability, though. That was always a strength of his. Especially with the extra energy he has that he isn't expending on the other end on isolation possessions.

That should have been expected since he’s a rookie and playing with other good players.

I mean, this wasn't a draft to get the next Durant, Westbrook, LeBron, etc. If we stayed at 3 and took Tatum, we could have been in the mix for one of those type of players in this upcoming draft.

Simmons, Redick, Cov, Tatum, Embiid would have been insanity.

Jon Isaac also would have been cool.

It's a "non-process" take to say that if Fultz doesn't pan out it was a bad trade. But it was also a "non-process" move to consolidate two high value choices for one high value choice.

A lot of us agreed that it was a bad trade from its genesis. It didn't matter who they took or how that player looked.

They traded 2 likely Top 5 picks to move up in a draft without any guaranteed future star, runaway prospect. No Towns, no Simmons, etc.

Who is "us"? No a lot of "us" didn't agree it was a bad trade from genesis. Reactionary posting be damned.

I don’t remember a general negative sentiment for Tatum on this board.

The decision was whether or not to take him at 3 and very few people were for THAT, but that is different than not liking him.

To me, he was always in the conversation at 4 even though I preferred Smith to him.

John Wall is pretty fierce when he's going at someone. I remember him going hard at MCW during his rookie year.

Such an incredibly Memphis thing to do to lose to the Mavs after beating the Warriors and Rockets...

WIggins is probably happy that KAT is starting to get blame and people will talk more about his poor defense.

Tatum always reminded me of Pierce, but he suffered from the Duke guys aren’t athletic enough and don’t translate to the NBA label in many ways, a label Jah keeps reinforcing. I liked him far better than Josh Jackson. I love Fultz and think a year from now we will all be damn glad we got him. Did Colangelo overpay? Probably, I recall a lot of us simply being happy that he didn’t toss Ainge two first rounders as the initial reports claimed. Remains to be seen how those protections he added work out.
