Anyone want Eric Bledose???

Post#1 » by HurricaneDij25 » Tue Oct 24, 2017 9:23 pm

I know a lot of you want to tank, but I just don't think there's any way to get away with that in the eastern conference, unless of course you're the Bulls who have been blasted by injuries and have teammates fighting each other in practice...

This was my best trade idea:

Pacers get - Eric Bledsoe
Suns get - Cory Joseph, Joseph Young, and our 2018 first round pick (top five protected this year, otherwise no protection in 2019)

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y7s35skk

Yes, giving up a first rounder is a risk. But, as a franchise that has been mired in mediocrity the last 3-4 years as we've been, I'm of the firm belief that you need to take some risks in order to have a chance at being successful. After all, there are no true title contenders in the east outside of the Cavs, and even if we were in a difficult conference we really can't afford to tank as it is given the stock we have in the likes of Oladipo, Collison, Bojan, and Thad.

What are your top thoughts on Bledsoe?

No way! We're not going anywhere even with Bledsoe no way do the Pacers give up their 2018 #1 even with protection. What if the pick ends up being #6 and the Pacers could get Jaren Jackson? Much rather have him than Eric Bledsoe.

I like Bledsoe, but he doesn't really fit our timeline, will be a two-year-rental, and another team will be way more desperate for him than us. We might be able to flip him later, but the risk is too great. The East is so bad we're probably going to lose that pick because it's going to be like 6th or 7th, and that makes the offer even less attractive for the Suns.

Bledsoe is like an injury prone Oladipo with overrated defense because of their athleticism, who needs to be extended after next season. There is no way I would give up a first rounder for him now or even include a solid player like Joseph.

Eric Bledsoe is unhappy in PHX for the same reason he'd be unhappy here. Would love to have him, but I don't think it's a good idea.

Theres not much else to add, you guys have pretty much said it all... but also even if the Pacers were interested (and if i recall, the Pacers were rumored to be interested in him this past summer?), i don't think we would have anything that interests the Suns to have a legit chance. I read earlier today that the Suns have asked the Cavs for the Nets first rd pick and asked the Knicks for Frank Ntilikina.

What in the world would they want from us if thats what they are thinking?

Only if they want to take Collison and Big AL for him... he is better player than Darren but we would still need more talent on the wing to became a decent PO team...

No.

Bledsoe is injured every other year.

He is a career 33% three point shooter. We want to run the floor and hit 3's. He can run the floor, but not hit 3's.

He turns the ball over too much. His career assist/TO ratio is less than 2/1, in fact he has never had a season with a 2/1 or better assist/TO ratio.

We don't need help at PG. Collison, CoJo, Lance and Victor O can adequately handle PG duties. We need help at SF and Bledsoe does not help us in that area.

A lot of red flags with Bledsoe. Injury, attitude, potential to leave. Heck of a talent for sure, though.

Perhaps it shouldn't matter, but I'd also be wary of Bledsoe's agent Rich Paul. A lot of his clients seem to end up with bad relationships with their teams. It should be noted that we can't avoid him entirely - CoJo is one of his clients for one thing. But the Suns pointing the finger at Rich Paul for Bledsoe's trade demand rings a lot of alarm bells for me, especially after what we went through with PG.

I would honestly rather keep what we have now.

No thanks, ride with what we have right now. This team is playing unselfish basketball right now and I want to keep it that way.

No way, Collison has earned his spot so far. And I'm not willing to give it away for a malcontent, especially since we just got rid of one. Love our chemistry thus far. Call me crazy, but I wouldn't take him for a second rounder. There's no need.

Nope. He isn't worth the price tag with injuries and inconsistencies.

No on Bledsoe. I prefer to build through the draft and free agents next year and strengthen the wing position rather than add another guard where we are strong.

I do agree Rich Paul tends to have strained relations with the teams his players are on. I also agree that despite his talent, Bledsoe wouldn't really be a great fit here with our younger core, but I don't think he is wrong for wanting out of Phoenix. That team just seems to be endlessly terrible with a long line of bad decision making. Bad trades, bad contracts, bad coaching, bad FO, bad team relationships with their players. A better GM wouldn't have to be forced into moving Bledsoe because it would be obvious that both would benefit from parting ways, but they haven't even done that.

I do not want Eric Bledsoe, but I would happily take Chandler from them(who they are trying to trade as well). We need someone other than Turner who can protect the paint if Turner is injured or on the bench.

We'd have to trade Thaddeus to someone else as well otherwise we would lose a spot for Leaf in the rotation, but we need another rim protector. Not to mention, having Chandler as a mentor to Turner/Anigbogu could be great.

I wouldn't trade Thad until we've seen him on the floor with Turner and Subonas (Thad playing the 3). He's our best/only guy equipped to guard the new generation of unicorn players. And I think that is more valuable than a backup center. Use Thad at the 3 and you will still have minutes for Leaf.

Absolutely, I don't see why anyone would like to trade Thad. He is cheap and well rounded Forward.

Thad is a very, very important player on the team this year. Wouldn't want to trade him unless we're getting an insane deal. Which Bledsoe is not.

I would give immediately Collison for Bledsoe... DC is just not good enough to run this team... we need better player if we want to make PO
