None of these words make any sense to me:

Lakers’ G League Team Hires Metta World Peace As Assistant Coach

The South Bay Lakers have hired Metta World Peace as an assistant coach, according to the team’s website. World Peace had recently expressed an interest in coaching, and this opportunity lands him in a player development role for the Lakers’ G League affiliate.

David Griffin (Ex Cavs GM), just threw former #1 pick Anthony Bennett under a bus, a truck and a bulldozer....
“The issue with Anthony was, and we had no way of knowing it at the time, the kid had no desire to overcome adversity whatsoever. As soon as it was hard, he was out,” (David) Griffin said. “His whole life, he rolled out of bed bigger, better, and more talented than everybody else. As soon as it was hard, it was over. And I was the one on campus at UNLV. I’m the one who got sold the bill of goods and I bought it hook, line, and sinker. You [expletive] up sometimes. But I feel bad Chris took it for that, because Chris was the one guy who wasn’t sure.”

Metta WP was supposedly a tremendous bench voice for the Lakers the last year or so he played. It should be no surprise that he's moved into coaching.

Knicks are completely adrift...period.

THJ has a negative PER through the first week of the season. I didn't even think that was possible for a rotation player.

At what point do we start to admit that maybe the PG13 for Oladipo/Sabonis swap wasn't quite as catastrophic as we'd initially thought?

I admit, they could have/should have gotten more. But what they got were two young starters under control for years...one of whom could be an All Star for years to come.

That's...solid. For one year of Paul George.

These are the beginning stages of the Porzingo-to-ATL movement. Jussayin ....

I actually had this thought the other day. Porzingis says he needs to see improvement/stability before he commits to NYK.

WE seem on the verge of collecting as great amount of young talent/picks that could be used to tempt Knicks on a trade.

Would we rather have Porzingis or a top 5 pick next year?
Would we rather have Porzingis or Collins/Prince?
Is Porzingis a franchise talent on a championship contender?
Can unicorns live/thrive in the south?

I didn't understand why people thought it was a bad deal. Indy had no leverage. Most teams didn't want him for a year.

Yeah, I'm high on Oladipo, but thought they could have snagged a Avery Bradley + lottery pick from Boston.

But this package has turned out well.

Suns GM doubling and tripling down on Bledsoe and Rich Paul...
“I was certainly surprised by it and disappointed by it,” McDonough said. “I think Eric’s a good person. I think he’s unfortunately gotten some bad advice and is listening to the wrong people. I think generally, any time you sign a contract, it doesn’t only work one way. It works both ways, and for a guy with years on his contract to say or intimate he didn’t want to be here anymore, I didn’t find that to be appropriate, and I think if he says he wants to be a leader, that’s the opposite of what a leader does and the opposite of what leadership is. So I think that’s all I’m going to say about that.”

“I think, just my opinion, the shift comes from contractual demands made by his representatives,” McDonough said of Bledsoe's desire to move on, “and that’s what I was referring to when I said I think he got bad advice.”

Later in the interview, McDonough tripled down on his criticisms of Bledsoe’s representation: “[Eric’s] a talented player and a good player, but like I said, I think he’s just being a little bit misguided at the moment with some of the advice he’s getting.”

How does McDonough not get fired for tanking Bledsoe's value by saying stuff like this:
1. the team underperformed with him as the main guy
2. His agents give him bad advise
2. he's got a history of injuries
4. he wants a new contract extension that way too much.

While we're asking questions, who's DET's worse contract, Drummmmmond or Reggie? I think it's Andre.

No question. Reggie makes less than Baze. (pause to cry)

Speaking of GLeague and who should go...
SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Spurs have assigned veteran point guard Tony Parker to their G League affiliate, the Austin Spurs, for a rehabilitation assignment, the team announced.

Refresher course on the Spurs way? Hard to get it down even after 16 years, only the D/G Leaguers can teach it.

I love it. The Spurs are actually treating the G League as a minor league system.

It also takes a special kind of player to accept that assignment.

Can't wait until the College Park franchise can be used in a similar fashion.
