I wish we still had the "shot whisperer" with us to help Dwight. My sample size is small, but his routine at the line is not consistent. He keeps his lower body fairly grounded but his approach and angles vary slightly every time. He also creates little touch to the ball.

It's not a horrible looking shot, just seems stiff.

His ft shooting is definitely a problem.

FT shooting has been an issue, but I expected it to be bad and I think the rebounding/defensive effort he's bringing more than makes up for it.

When watching the Milwaulkee game my biggest issue involving Dwight wasn't FTs, it was all our stupid turnovers awkwardly trying to deliver the ball inside. Thon effing Maker stole absolutely pathetic entry passes from Lamb on two straight possessions (I think he stole three entry passes in the game's first six minutes), and I counted at least four other instances where guys tried to force-feed Dwight on the break or rolling to the rim but couldn't figure out how. Even Kemba, who is basically in the top 1 percentile for protecting the ball, isn't immune from this issue.

Cleaning up our entry passes, and figuring out how to differentiate between a good opportunity to get it inside and a bad angle that will never work, should be one of the top priorities if Cliff intend to keep having guys feed the big man that much.

i think we should just stop feeding it inside to dwight altogether. Between the turnovers and missed free throws, its just a disaster offensively.

This is part of the reason teams are so poor on offense when Dwight is on the floor

You need wing sized players with long arms to effectively feed guys in the post against today's NBA defenses. We have two players like that (Batum and MCW) but they're both injured. Dwight's turnover issues will get a lot better once Nic is back.

I assume there isn't really any point in discussing his free throws. Its a big issue, but never going to get any better as far as I can tell.

Definitely agree we should be feeding him in the post less. I wouldn't say never, but we have to be more selective. If he gets deep position or has a mismatch then definitely try to get him the ball, but I don't see much point in feeding him just for the sake of it. Maybe give him a couple extra early touches to get him engaged, but otherwise we just need to be more selective.

I wouldn't pass him the ball unless he is wide open. He can get rb's if he wants to shoot more. Also, we have to bench him in crunch time once we get Cody back. But, he is a Def/RB stud.

Interesting side note - and something I hadn't considered until Collins mentioned it last night - despite Dwight's horrendous FT shooting, his physicality down low puts us in the bonus really early and the rest of our guys are pretty good at the line. Not sure if we win, lose, or break even with this, but worth noting.

What's over? Certainly not his role on this team, he's been much more successful than I think most on here expected.

Good point. Also he is good for 8-10 value added points with his offensive rebounding. I can live with the turnovers, right now most of them are travels. I expect that Clifford has told him he needs to cut back on those to get more offensive touches. 3 less turnovers probably means 3 extra points to his PPG.

Either way, I can't tell you enough how nice it is to have a dominant rebounder. We haven't seen this since Gerald Wallace's insane year, and even that wasn't as impressive as this. That was a LONNNG time ago. Dwight has a legit shot at the all-star game if he keeps it up.

they used to say the same about Shaq as well, he always got there team into the bonus early.

Good to see Kemba using his speed to take advantage of it and get to the line.
