That's the infuriating thing about it. We're fighting wars for relatively cheap oil. That's all.

Actually its about $35 to extract but that is far from Canada's only oil deposits.
The other reality is oil is a minor component in the cost of gasoline and other hydrocarbon products whether it is at $50 a barrel or $100 a barrel.

No, that's not true.

https://www.trade.gov/media/publications/pdf/cellulosic2007.pdf

See the formula on page 7 of this analysis I did in 2007. The refinery value added is only 30 cents per gallon. If you have sweet oil from Saudi Arabia 93% of it can be used to make gasoline and etc. It's true Canada's oil sucks, having a smaller share of of oil usable for gasoline.

This is a much more up to date cost structure than 2007.
While the oil sands is more difficult to refine and extract it obviously isn't Canada only oil resources.
Yes Saudi Arabia has low costs of extraction but also pose a huge risk in stability as well as every Middle Eastern country as well as Venezuela.

While fracking has helped the USA in energy it is debatable that the downside is more costly than the upside.

It is interesting that the national news sites(CNN, MSNBC, even Fox) mention an impending charges from the Mueller probe, but the Washington Post does not.

One thing one of the stories mentions is that white collar indictments generally start low and work their way up. The idea being to get cooperation from those initially charged.

Based on this, it would seem a possibility that someone lower level could be the first round with Manafort and Flynn seen as the ultimate targets. If it starts some one like Flynn or Manafort, it seems very likely that charges would ultimately get to the presidents inner circle.

Is there much evidence of Trump learning quickly from his mistakes?

The one example I can think of took a long time. After numerous failures as a real estate developer/casino owner, he finally switched his business model to just slapping his name on buildings and generating publicity.

In all likelihood the 1st charges are against Manafort for 2 reasons he was involved with the Trump campaign for the least amount of time less than 5 months. Plus Mueller has worked with NY. State who can lay charges that Trump can't pardon. It's the 1st. shoe to drop but an important one in that I believe that they have ample evidence convict in non-Russian financial crimes. He also has the ability to seek amnesty and be a key witness against Donald Trump Jr., Kushner and others including the President. The beauty of charges laid against him are Federal with NY being able to have the ace in the hole making sure he testifies honestly.

Roger stone, Sebastian Gorka and Sean Hannity are losing their minds on Twitter  amazing how triggered and incoherent these Trump supporters can get when faced with facts.

It's hilarious.

I mean it's "obviously" #fakenews and doesn't affect them so just sit back, laugh and watch the dems make fools of themselves.

I mean that's how I'd respond to #fakenews :dontknow:

I wouldn't doubt that Rodger Stone is the next Target because of his relationship with Manafort and his close relationship with Trump.I think Flynn is being kept on the sidelines simply because he has already indicated that he would co-operate for immunity. I also wouldn't doubt that NYS has reopened files on Donald Jr. and Ivanka on the real estate dealings in Trump SoHo. Mueller is extremely smart and has recruited the very best associates to aid him.

It really gives an insight into their mindset. They literally believe that Trump can do no wrong and any accusations against him are false or some grand conspiracy despite the mountains of evidence in their face. There's only one echo chamber and it belongs to the right wing.
